Whether you've been at New Paltz for one semester or a few years, you're definitely aware that we have particular ways of doing things. Since we all share the same home, we all experience the same struggles and have the same ideas about what to do on campus and around town. Here are some ways you know for sure that you've been immersed in the true New Paltz culture.
1. You’ve made a vow to eat at every restaurant on Main Street at least once, but you always just end up at B-Side.
2. You’ve been to the rail trail mostly for the Instagram pictures.
3. “Maybe when it gets warmer I’ll go hiking.”
4. You have a punch card from Moxie Cup, Manny’s, and Cafeteria, but they all only have one punch.
5. Open Mic Night at Cafeteria, again for the Instagram pictures.
6. Southside? Southside.
7. You (or at least seven of your friends) have a septum piercing.
8. There’s always room for donuts from the Waterstreet Market.
9. You’ve accidentally stepped on a uterus while walking to class.
10. As soon as it hits 40 degrees, you’re at the pond with your blanket ready to go.
11. Salvation Army is a trek, but you’ll do anything for $3 flannels.

13. Life isn’t so bad when it’s wing night at Cuddies.
14. You wouldn’t know who Donald P. Christian was if he punched you in the face.
15. It’s so hard to get work done in the new library, but that view…
15. You’re counting down the days until Twisty Cone reopens.
16. “He’s like New Paltz hot.”
17. You always want to refer to the SUB as the Louvre, but you know no one will laugh.
18. Does anyone actually call it Newps?
19. You’ve had stamps on your wrists and X’s on the backs of your hands, and they didn’t come off for at least three days.
20. Dunkin' is so far but so worth it.
21. The Lemon Squeeze sounds better in theory.
Vandenberg might as well be at the top of Mohonk.
22. “You’re at the pizza place? Which one?”
23. You’ve never technically had a bad time at Oasis.
