Ezekiel 37:4 says, 4 Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! 5 This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath[a] enter you, and you will come to life. 6 I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’”

About a month ago I was able to sing the song Dry Bones, by Lauren Daigle, at church. Then this past weekend I was able to hear the song live at a Lauren Daigle concert. Every single experience I have had with this song has been nothing less than anointed. This song really speaks to me for so many reasons. However, this past weekend it really got me thinking about my dry bones. Where are my dry bones? How long have I let them starve without life? How can they be fixed?

Are the dry bones in my feet?

Am I struggling with staying grounded? Can I not stay focused on the task in front of me? Do I have trouble knowing which direction I should go? Do I have trouble knowing when to lead and when to follow?

Sometimes we just need to take a look at ourselves and ask God for help. Ask him for guidance in everything you do. Ask him for his command on when you should take initiative and lead versus when you should just obey authority and follow. Ask him to help you stay content and grounded with everything you do.

Proverbs 3:5-6 says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”

Are the dry bones in my chest?

Does your heart feel like it needs a new life? Do you feel like you have no more love to give? Like you cannot show adequate love to others perhaps because you can’t find adequate love for yourself? Does your heart feel dead and lifeless because of rejection of satisfaction? Do you feel too weak and worn that you can’t find the energy to show everyone you meet some amount of love?

I think a lot of the time the enemy likes to trick us into believing that loving others is time consuming and takes a lot of energy. The enemy also tries to get us to not show love to others out of jealousy or fear of competition. However, the voice of truth wants you to know that by lifting up others you are really lifting up yourself. You do not lose anything by showing love. The bible says that you reap what you sew, so how you treat others will determine how you are treated. Love others, and watch how good it feels.

Psalms 139:14 says “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

Mark 12:31 says “The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these."

Are the dry bones in my head?

Do you get thrown off or discouraged by your own thoughts? Is your brain swirling with negativity? Is your brain starving for the opinion of others? Do you let anyone in to share their ideas? Do you let anything out to get a second opinion?

Sometimes our biggest critic and obstacle can be ourselves and the voices that we listen to in our head. We sometimes let thoughts of negativity float around in us thinking that we can handle it, but in reality it just weighs us down.

Psalms 55:22 says Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.

Are the dry bones in my hands?

Do you scatter away from service? Do you find time to serve those around you? Do you work for good or for evil?

The lord wants to use us and our talents. However, a lot of the times we get too tired or busy to realize that we could be using our gifts for his glory. What are you working towards? If you are working towards the worldly accomplishments, you will never be satisfied or truly rewarded. However, if you choose to work for the kingdom of heaven, you will thirst no more for anything and you will be forever rewarded.

Hebrews 6:10 says God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.

Please take the time to try and discover where your dry bones are at. Maybe your dry bones are not any of the places I listed, but there are areas that we can all work on. God wants to heal and give life to your dry bones while teaching you something in the process. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but our mighty savior comes to bring life. Tell you dry bones to wake up. It is time they start joining the army of heaven.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
