Rain is cleansing only towards the Earth
A perfect amount will restore and revive
Could render one dead or keep them alive
Feeds life and love where too much will curse
The life that I live and has done so since birth
Before it begins it’s already over
Seemingly nothing can last forever
Admire that first whiff of rain
With the first drops hurdling towards Earth
Touching down so gracefully
In a cooperatively beautiful manner
One after another
All in unison
One after another
‘Till soon they’re made of sheets
Rolling thunder inevitable, yet scares just the same
We dread its arrival until we want it to stay
To me its existence seems somewhat uncertain
Always hidden by an ominous curtain
Seeing is believing, that’s what they say
The clapping thunder may never be tamed
Rain is cleansing only towards the Earth
A perfect amount will restore and revive
Could render one dead or keep them alive
Feeds life and love where too much will curse
The life that I live and has done so since birth
Where there’s smoke there’s fire
With thunder comes lightning
By now the storm is giving it all
Raging on, too strong to fall
It seems never ending
Moving faster and stronger
Dark clouds churning under blackened skies
Throwing wind and water alongside the thunder
Followed by lightning right into the ground
The most violent of nature’s spectacles
But we love it so
Maybe the rush or maybe the thrill
That makes the storm so inviting
We can never seem to get our fill
But always know what we’re missing
Organized chaos is Mother Nature’s procedure
Vibrant feelings with paralyzing demeanor
Nothing is real except everything now
United by a fortunate accident
Until the dams erupt and nature takes over
Reminding us again nothing lasts forever
No drop ever feels responsible for the flood
Rain is cleansing only towards the Earth
A perfect amount will restore and revive
Could render one dead or keep them alive
Feeds life and love where too much will curse
The life that I live and has done so since birth
