There are so many different activities you can do while the summer season is here. Here are a couple healthy activities and ways to achieve a healthy and happy summer!

1. Go on a hike.

It is so important to promote self-care. As a busy individual I find going on a hike is so peaceful and healthy. After the hike I feel so much better about myself.

2. Get some sun!

Getting some sun in the summer is also another way to find some peaceful moments throughout your week. Tanning naturally is the healthiest and putting the right amount of sun tan lotion is key to absorbing healthy skin! I know from the cold winter months the sun feels amazing on your skin.

3. Hit the beach for a run!

Going to the beach is also another great activity to do during summertime, but also incorporating fitness is a perfect mix! So taking advantage of the beautiful beach and using it for a healthy purpose is essential.

4. Eat summer fruits and vegetables!

Watermelon, strawberries, blueberries, peaches, corn, tomatoes and zucchini are all great summer fruits and vegetables! Maybe going picking for any summer fruits or vegetables could be a great activity during the summer!

5. Take a swim!

No matter in a pool or ocean, swimming is such a great exercise to accomplish! During the winter time this exercise is hard to accomplish but in the summer it is so easy to achieve this exercise! They say swimming is one of the best exercises you can do.

6. Take a bike ride.

Another great exercise to do in the summer is take a bike ride. They also say bike riding is another great exercise. Finding some great biking trails should be essential when trying to accomplish a healthy summer.

7. Enjoy nature.

During the summer season it is perfect to appreciate nature. By going on nature walks, going outside more and just taking time to enjoy what we call Earth!

8. Drink water.

I know from experience drinking water is a hard task to achieve. But recently as summer is approaching I have strictly been sticking to drinking water. It helps so much, especially in the heat. It makes you feel healthy and hydrated!

9. Stick to a health routine.

Sticking to a daily routine is a big part of promoting a healthy lifestyle. By waking up early and doing your daily exercise this will promote your daily routine.

10. Find time for self-care.

Finding time for what makes you happy is important as a human being. Being able to do hobbies and activities you enjoy will make you feel better about yourself. So it is important to find time to do certain things that make you happy.

11. Stress less - it is summer!

Summer should not be about being stressed out. Summer is the only time of the year when it is OK to go out during the week! Take advantage of the great summer nights we have.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
