Yes, it may involve schoolwork

Spring break is the time where we get to recover from our midterms, illnesses, and loads of homework. Don’t have any specific plans? Here are some ways to make your break more productive while still being fun!

Hang out with high school friends.

Breaks are most likely one of the only times of year you get to see your high school friends (besides summer). Make the most by catching up with friends!

Spring cleaning.

It's almost time to break out your shorts and tank tops and prepare for warm weather! But, alas, it's only March, so make sure to still have pants and coats in hand. Use this time off to go through your closet and give away stuff you don’t wear or need anymore to people in need through organizations like Big Brother Big Sister or Goodwill.

Catch up on readings and other assignments.

Though the greatest part of spring break is the “break” part, it's also a great time to catch up on things you are behind on! Though the last thing you want to be doing over break is school work, you’ll be happy in the long run. If you decide to catch up on work, try to structure your time wisely so that you will not make yourself overwhelmed before you go back to school. Decide to set aside a short amount of time each day to do some work.

Travel.

Sad that all your friends have plans to travel during break, but you don’t? No need to feel that way because you can explore locally! You'd be surprised how many fun places exist that aren’t that far away from your home! And, yes, even if you are from a small town, I guarantee you that there are still various exciting places near you that you have never been to!

Spend time with family.

Real food! Oh -- and family, of course. Spend some quality time with the 'rents and the sibs! Go out to dinner, see movies together, and enjoy a homecooked meal!

Apply to summer internships and jobs or plan your summer.

Summer has always had a way of creeping up on us. Still don’t have any summer plans? Spring break is a perfect time to plan and apply to summer jobs. Most applications are due in mid to late March (depending on the organization.) It's time to get in those apps!

Give yourself some down time.

Last, but not least, give yourself some downtime! I mean, it is called “break” for a reason! There’s nothing like sitting under the covers and watching your favorite TV shows and or movies, all in the comfort of your own home! Even if you will not be at home over break, still give yourself time to relax.

Happy spring break!

8 Spotify Playlists To Get You In The Autumn Mood

The temperature may not be very Autumn-like, but these playlists sure are.

Autumn Playlists
King of Wallpapers

Autumn is my favorite time of the year. The leaves change, pumpkin spice everything hits the shelves (thank you, world!), the 13 Nights of Halloween on Freeform (formerly abcfamily) and the temperature drops. Well, the temperature is supposed to drop. Being in south Alabama, however, means that the temperature may be relatively low early in the mornings, but you're still going to suffer in the afternoon. So if the weather outside isn't getting you in the Autumn mood, maybe these Spotify playlists will help you slip into that wonderful, Autumn state of mind.

As human beings, there are just some things that seem to bring us all together with the same sense of irritation. Here are a few of those annoying things that make my list. I'm sure at least some, if not most, of them make yours as well. If you can think of any more relatable annoyances that I've missed, feel free to comment on this article and let me know!

I have never understood why grown-ups complain when the leaves are all off the trees, and the temperatures take a decided turn towards the zero on the thermometer. I hear complaints about the impending winter weather, and the driving in the snow and ice. We live in Pennsylvania, so I bite my tongue instead of stating the obvious: Maybe you should move to a warmer climate?

Aside from the great hits like "Dreams," "Linger," and "Zombie," you may not know many other songs by "The Cranberries." These three songs are played rather frequently, and it would be hard to imagine someone not recognizing at least one of the three. If you haven't, look them up, and then come back and read this list.
