We all know the struggle as finals come around. Yes, I have a paper due in three days, but I also REALLY need to take a walk for... emotional reasons? Procrastination seems to be our middle name. The cycle is never ending. Next time you find yourself searching for alternative ways to distract yourself, try one of these twelve "productive" ways to procrastinate.
1. FaceTime your hometown friends.
Always good to catch up, right?
2. Watch youtube.
While you started watching the examples of that new yoga pose, somehow you ended up watching the episode of Justin and Selena's love story. And you aren't mad about it. At least you're keeping yourself up to current news.
3. Pinterest boards ALWAYS need updating.
Although Pinterest seems to have fallen off the face of the Earth, it is one of the best sites to waste three hours on. And make you decide you need a life-makeover.
4. Work out.
Spring break is right around the corner...
5. Listen to Taylor Swift's entire new album.
SLAY MY LIFE.
6. Look up song analysis’ for said album ^
This is a real thing. We must stay updated on Swift's love life.
7. "Shopping break"
*boom* there goes $100 (and possibly that new wardrobe that was inspired by your newest Pinterest board??)
8. Start making your Christmas list.
This is almost a necessity. If you don't start writing these things down, you might forget about them!!
9. Laundry.
This is prime procrastination right here, but at least you will have good smelling clothes at the end of it.
10. Call your mom.
You avoid studying and get a therapy session at the same time.
11. Edit pictures you took over three months ago.
At this point your VSCO library is running out of storage, but always gotta be Instagram ready right?
12. Go to Power Plant Café and not feel bad about getting nothing accomplished because #SCENERY
While many students come here to be productive, it's easy to be mesmerized by the beauty of Cascades Park. Do not feel bad about only connecting to the WiFi and taking a picture of your coffee.
With these ways, you might feel a little better about putting off that paper.
