The holiday season is by far one of my favorite times of year. It's the only time you can get away with whatever beauty trends you want. Dark eye and lip combo? Perfect. Red lips everyday? Also okay. Darker hair? Why yes of course, it's that time of year. Lighter hair? Yes, start a new trend for the season. You go! Want to wear a really ugly sweater? Go ahead! Why can't we freaking be in holiday season ALL. YEAR. LONG??!

My favorite beauty trend that just so happens to be really in this season is glitter, well, everything. Here are my top 5 favorite glitter ideas that everyone should try this holiday season.

1.) Glitter Roots

Whether you need to cover up some roots for a party this year or just want a fun party look, you've gotta try this. All you need is a little hair gel or vaseline to hold the glitter on your hair and then apply as much glitter as you'd like. If you put some in your hand and apply it with your fingers rather than just dumping it on your head and calling it a day usually works better, but hey you do you. No glitter shame here.

2.) Glitter Brows

Brows are probably my favorite part of doing makeup, period, especially since thick un-groomed eyebrows have came back in style. (Something my eyebrows are able to achieve perfectly, no matter how hard I try to tame them.) This year thick filled in eyebrows are a big thing. Whether you are filling them in with a natural tone or going for a more vibrant color, eyebrows have to be on fleek. So this year when you're filling in your brows for that party opt for a more fun look! Glitter brows just look so cool. Why not? I would probably go for a pigmented eyeshadow or a glitter liner to achieve this look.

3.) Glitter Lips

Instead of just covering your lips with vaseline and glitter, which is obviously still super cool and you can totally do, go with this twist on a glitter lip! With a more subtle sparkle to it these girls rock a shimmer lip. Lottie Tomlinson (second picture) has a super cool Youtube video on her channel teaching you how to get her pink glitter lip. Check it out!

4. Glitter Eyeliner

Who doesn't love a good cat eye? You can either enhance your normal liner with lining underneath the eye with a glitter liner or you can go for an all out glitter liner! Whatever the case, I'm super digging these glitter vibes.

5.) Glitter Lashes

If you want something a little less dramatic than the liner go for some glitter lashes! You can go as subtle or as dramatic you want! To achieve this look all you need is some glitter liner. Run it over your lashes either after you put on your mascara, or on your bare lashes (personal preference) and then you are ready to go!

So there you have it! Five perfect glitter inspired looks to try before this holiday season is over!!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
