We've all been there - rooting for one season to come and another to pass in a blink - and there's usually one that we favor more over the other, but what really are the biggest differences between people who prefer the cold weather and those who thrive in warm weather? Here's the breakdown.
1. Fashion Choices
Hot-weather people: You're always ready to trade in the boots for flip-flops and bathing suits.
It's time to say good riddance to all the layers and being cold all the time. You're one of those people that head outside as soon as the first day of summer is announced and the only shoes that matter are your flip-flops. Beaches and pools are calling to you, and let's face it, if you don't go there more than once, did you really have a summer?
Cold-weather people: Boots and jackets are where it's at.
If you're a cold-weather fan, then you get almost a little too excited to break out the boots and every layer. Any opportunity to feel cozy on the daily is a plus and that's all that matters. It's time to reach ultimate warm marshmallow status, judgment-free!
2. Food Choices
Hot-weather people: It's always barbecue time.
Break out the grill and get cooking because it's time to sizzle! The only meals around here have the nice, smokey taste of charcoal. Burgers, hotdogs, pork, what's not to love? It's no lie that a good barbecue is always looked forward to when summer comes around. Wake up those tastebuds because no other meal will be served.
Cold-weather people: It's always turkey time.
Thanksgiving falls into this time of the year, so how wouldn't it take the win? You get the feast of a lifetime complete with a turkey and heaps of dessert. It's enough to beat barbecue hands down.
3. Holidays
Hot-weather people: The Fourth Of July and Memorial Day are the ONLY holidays that matter.
That's right, friends! Labor Day is the "unofficial" start to summer and everyone parades to the beach, including your summer lovers. The weather may not be right for the beach quite yet, but the state of mind is enough to carry you there. When summer is actually around, it includes the Fourth of July with fireworks, sprinklers, and barbecue delight (maybe a little splash of the newest season of Stranger Things too). The day is seamlessly yours and it's all up to you.
Cold-weather people: Halloween, Thanksgiving AND Christmas?!
Three of the best holidays all in one weather timeline and they're all everyone's favorite! Each involves family, friends, and food. There's usually some type of party, whether it's big or small and each literally brings the best mood.
4. Leisure TimeĀ
Hot-weather people:Your break isn't complete without day trips and vacation.
Summer gives way to so much freedom to do things, so it's best to latch on to that opportunity while you can. Just think of how much you can do! The car is always loaded up with your friends and 7/11 Slurpees as you drive miles and miles, going nowhere. It's the time to be complete goofballs and explore the world around you.
Cold-weather people: The activities are more relaxing, but still beyond amazing!
Sure, you're stuck in school during this time of year, but there's still so much that can be done! Hayrides, orchards, decorating, movie binges, etc are all at your fingertips and although there's not much to any of these activities, they're still fun and give you more time with the people you hold dear.
5. Time Spent In Nature
Hot-weather people: Rolling in grass.
There's something satisfying about rolling around in the grass and dirt and having downhill races. The grass tickles you as you go and the world turns in just the perfect way.
Cold-weather people: Rolling in leaf piles and playing in the snow.
You don't have too much time to roll down grassy hills, but there are plenty of leaf piles and eventually snowbanks. You can toss leaves and roll in them, watching the colored symphony and listening to the crunches, and when winter comes, it'll be time for snowball fights.
