Now that the craziness of a new year and a new semester of school has settled down I've begun thinking about things I want to learn or try. My hope is that if I put it in writing and share it with all of you I will be more inclined to actually go through with it, and who knows maybe it will inspire you to try or learn something new!

So here we go!

1. I want to learn to cook, and actually take the time to cook and share it with my roommates. I feel like we are always rushing and never take the time to sit down and eat together and just catch up on each other's lives.

2. I want to read more books. When I was younger I read all of the time, during the summer often a book a day. I want to get back into reading for fun not just for school.

3. I want to visit new places. I would like to go to more museums, like the art museum or history museum.

4. I want to learn a new language. Maybe Spanish or French!

5. I want to learn to snowboard.

6. I want to learn to ballroom dance.

7. I want to attend a music festival.

8. I want to compliment at least one person every day.

9. I want to go on my first cruise.

10. I want to change my hair.

11. I want to go to a concert.

12. I want to take a painting class.

13. I want to use my phone less and live more in the moment.

14. I want to make my friendships stronger.

15. I want to take the time to go home to visit my parents more often.

16. I want to learn to ice skate.

17. I want to take more pictures.

18. I want to go on more walks.

19. I want to go skydiving.

20. I want to get out of my comfort zone, and I want to push myself to try new things and explore everything life has to offer.

It's easy to get stuck in the same boring routine, so I want to try something new, whether it's something small or something big, every day.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
