"Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is more precious than rubies. Her husband can trust her, and she will greatly enrich his life. She brings him good and not harm all the days of her life." -Proverbs 31:10-12
As a girl, young or old, it is very easy to get caught up in the idea that what we look like on the outside is more important than who we are on the inside. We think that if we could just get that one guy to notice us then our life would just be perfect. While taking care of yourself on the outside is important, there is someone out there who wants a woman who is beautiful on the outside. He wants someone who is humble and endearing, a woman who fears God.
I have often had a hard time with this. I've been in relationships that have taken me so far away from God that I never thought He would even want me back. It is so easy to get wrapped up in fitting in and trying to make sure that we keep our men happy that we will absolutely do anything even if it means going against our own morals. We post pictures nearly every day with a caption that leads everyone to believe that we have the perfect relationship when in all actuality it is failing miserably.
When I decided to set my standards higher than any worldly man, I found my "Prince". I chose to strive every single day to be a Proverbs 31 woman. If you haven't read Proverbs 31, I suggest you do so because it tells you exactly what you need to do to be beautiful on the inside and exactly how to love the man God set aside for you. A godly man will be looking for a God fearing woman. Although it won't always be easy, God says with Him all things are possible!
Truth is none of us are perfect and we all fall short of God's glory but the point is to strive. Every. Single. Day. Strive to be so in love with God that your "Prince Charming" will have to go through God to get to you. So don't be so hard on yourself. That's the beauty of it all, God doesn't expect us to be perfect. In fact, there is no such thing as a perfect Christian. He knew we would sin if He thought we would be perfect there would have been no point in Jesus.
Waiting is so hard when you think you know exactly what you want. None of us like to be patient, but it will be so worth the wait! In the meantime allow God to prepare you for your husband so that you can be a godly wife and a servant for Christ! He has the perfect guy waiting JUST FOR YOU! He just has to make sure you are ready.
With His love!
