Vote Dolly Parton For President

If I'm going to vote for a woman, it'll be Dolly.

I'm not a political person nor do I pretend to be. I'm all about putting women in powerful positions but if Hillary Clinton is my only option at this point, then forget it. However, in light of her recent Facebook post, I would personally like to nominate Dolly Parton as the next president of the United States. Here are reasons why I would choose the country queen to run our beautiful country over Hilary any day.

1. She's a tough business woman who can still relate to the lower and middle class.

Although Hillary claims to be "just like you," she's not. She's married to a man who was once president (and he did such a great job, but that's another story); she has a private jet and makes $200,000 for speaking engagements. Although she and her husband Bill Clinton were seamlessly broke before moving into the White House, you would never know due to the life of luxury she lives today. Dolly literally built her career from scratch. She grew up in a rural county of Eastern Tennessee. She had little to nothing and still managed to grow a country music empire and build an amusement park. Despite her success, Dolly is not afraid to let you know that her down home roots made her stronger and more hard-working.

2. She would never let a man push her around.

If Hillary Clinton doesn't have the confidence to leave her cheating husband, then what makes her strong enough to lead a country? Although Dolly Parton is happily married to husband Carl Dean, she is too independent to depend on a man for support. Hillary needs Bill's money. Dolly just needs Carl's love and support. If a woman is to step out there and lead this country, they have to be strong enough to take charge of their own lives, first. Dolly even once said "I grew up around lots of men—my father, my brothers, my uncles—so I wasn't intimidated by them."

3. She would never lie to her country.

In light of Hillary's little slap on the wrist for using her private email server for official communications, it can be assumed that the Democratic nominee has a few important secrets she doesn't feel like sharing with the voters. This was also not the first time the former First Lady was caught in a lie. In 2008, she claimed to landed under "sniper fire" in Bosnia. However, this was found to be untrue through video evidence. Despite countless rumors for more than 50 years on everything from lesbian lovers to cancer, Dolly Parton remains poised and honest with the public.

4. She would never change just to please others.

It seems that every time there is a popular change in beliefs from society, Hillary jumps on the bandwagon. It's her way of pleasing the public. It's obvious that the general public might not agree with Dolly's religious background or her controversial endless plastic surgeries. Instead of changing to please others, all the iconic country artists has to say is, "Its hard to be a diamond in a rhinestone world." She's always been an icon and supporter for anyone who feels different in the world.

5. Let's face it, she's got the hair for it.

"I try not to get political but if I am, I might as well just run myself 'cause I've got the hair for it. It's huge, and they could always use more boobs in the race."

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
