When I was a kid, my life revolved around cartoons and playing outside. On the bus ride home from school, different scenes from cartoons would be acted out and each person was assigned a character that resembled their personality to some degree. I never really grasped the fact, as a 7-year-old, that many of the characters on screen were voiced by only a few select people, but I've recently found a few voice actors that pretty much embody my childhood.
Grey Delisle/Griffin
Griffin has lent her vocal cords to many different cartoons and video games. Some of the most famous ones including "As Told By Ginger", "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends" and "Avatar: The Last Airbender". She has voiced hundreds of characters (including the minor ones) throughout the years, but she is mostly known for a select few roles. These roles include Princess Azula of the Fire Nation, Sam Manson from "Danny Phantom", Vicky from "The Fairly OddParents" and Mandy from "The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy".
Tom Kenny
"Are you ready?"
"AYE AYE CAPTAIN!"
"Ohhhhhhhh! Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?"
"THO-MAS KEN-NY!"
Kenny is most prominently know as the voice of Spongebob Squarepants, one of the most famous cartoon characters to date. Though that chapter of his life, voicing the popular cartoon series character, is slowly coming to an end with the cancellation of Spongebob (don't worry, "Spongebob Squarepants 3" has been announced), he still has a well-earned place in this list. Not only does Kenny voice Spongebob, he also has had many other roles that you may not know about. Kenny has voiced the Mayor of Townsville in "The Powerpuff Girls", is most widely known as Cupid from "The Fairly OddParents" (among other characters), and Dog on "CatDog".
Tara Strong
Strong probably has the most impressive resume out of these three voice actors and is one of the most famous voice actors out there (seriously, Google it). She's pretty much considered voice actor royalty. She has voiced HUNDREDS of characters. Her voice range is crazy good and she's super talented! She's been part of shows such as "The New Batman Adventures", "Kim Possible", "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" and "American Dragon: Jake Long". Some of Strong's strongest roles include Bubbles from "The Powerpuff Girls", Timmy Turner, Dil Pickles from "The Rugrats" and "All Grown Up," Ben Tenysson from "Ben 10", Raven from "Teen Titans" and SO many others! I would check out her IMDB page if I were you.
Cartoons of today can't compare to the cartoons that were, but the voice actors bring experience to each role that adds levels to each of their characters linking generations together.
