At the start of this semester one of my good friends gave me an ingenious idea. She is taking a one second video every single day of this semester to fully document the glory and the excitement that is the last semester of college. You can use the one-second video app or just take them on your phone and send them to your computer at the end of the day! Taking her brilliant idea, I have been working hard to collect a video documenting a fun memory from everyday of the semester. Just a few weeks into the semester and my collection is already a few minutes long, which just goes to show how much fun this semester has been thus far. From lazy "Bachelor" nights with my friends to drunken, crazy supers, my video has it all.
Why do I think this is such a great idea? Well a lot of times little things happen that seemed so significant and memorable in the moment, but we forget about with the passage of time. By taking a video everyday I am able to remember all of the great memories and the funny moments that I have encountered this semester. I will be able to watch the video with all of my college friends during our 20's and reminiscence on how great life was our last semester of college. I will be able to look back when I am 40 years old and have kids of my own, and fret over how much I hope my kids don't do the same things that I did during my college days.
Memories are important and what better way to keep them than to take a short video everyday? If you're phone isn't the best or you don't have the mental capacity to remember to take a video everyday you can try to keep a journal and write down one good thing that happened to you that day. It is important to reflect on the days we want to remember and the days we want to make last forever.
So stick a go-pro on your wrist like my friend Sarah and head out to a day drink! You will be so grateful that you did when you are watching the hilarious video compilation you have achieved the next day or even a few weeks or years later.
