Life offers many opportunities and processes to escape all of the negativity around us. We need to take a closer look into our daily activities because some of them may very well be executed as crutches. Everything done in moderation is completely okay towards a healthy lifestyle; however, there are many things that we depend on. Some of these things may be completely risk-free while others can be detrimental to your health along with the social life surrounding you.
Some of these vices include but are not limited to alcohol, smoking (nicotine), bad diets, television (media), and, of course, drugs. These are common crutches that students and young adults find themselves diving into with the simple excuse of a quick stress relief. Completely depending on one or more of these can really warp you as a person. Not only will it lead to internal change, but the external world around you will begin to notice the pathway you have decided to take. You may have allowed yourself to succumb to being a sloth while avoiding any activity unless it is easy and simple with the least amount of labor. There is also gluttony which means you are consuming way too many drinks and smokes a day with lust factored into that equation as well. Many people ruin their social lives and a lot of friendships end as well because of the influences you have placed yourself under.
In many cases, alcohol, bad dieting, and excessive media usage can be manageable if moderation is understood. Those vices are simply examples in the grand scheme of life and should not be limited just to three. Are you getting absolutely hammered every other day and pushing away the people closest to you? Have you spent most of your money on food, drugs, or alcohol every time you get that pay check? If you completely shutout the things you enjoy, then at the end of the day those processes are still controlling you. There is no need to completely stop doing what you love because now fear will be walking side by side with you down your pathway. Living out of fear for something or someone is not the same as moderation at all. Moderation is a very difficult concept to grasp due to the fact that it is incredibly easy to give into temptation. We put so much stress on our bodies that we just want that quick stress relief all the time.
There are many natural processes out there that will allow the stress to escape from your body without bringing harm to yourself. Some of these activities can include working out, prayer, healthy dieting, but everyone will end up having their different ways. It all begins with deep meditation and acceptance of yourself if natural processes are to be started. It is extremely easy to say that things will change the next day, but they never actually do. Why is this true? Many promises are broken because it was never fully understood in the first place why the change needs to happen. Meditating over these issues is the key and then accepting what needs to happen is the next step. Go ahead and begin your process today because tomorrow is never promised and you will continue to be controlled by surrounding influences.
