How To Have The Best Valentine's Day Date By Schmidt
Corri Smith

Valentine's Day is two weeks away and that means you have just 14 days to sweep your crush off their feet and into your arms in time for a magical date. Apparently 52.2 million dollars were spent on flowers in February of 2014, but why waste your hard-earned money on something that will dry up and die? Your sweetheart won't be wooed by meaningless chocolates or jewelry either; you'll need to bring out the big guns this month and really captivate your honey with your glowing personality. 'What if I have a terrible personality?' you ask? Have no fear, Schmidt is here to help! The suave alpha of the loft has a thing or two to say when it comes to getting the girl (or guy) of your dreams. Here's some advice to nail that Valentine's Day date.

1. Perfect your smolder.

He or she won't be able to look away from this act of pure seduction.

2. Do cute gestures just for fun.

Your beloved will admire your random acts of sweetness.

3. Show off your moves.

Schmidty is the master of dance, if you move half as good as him, your admirer will be the curry to your rice for the evening.

4. Be confident!

Timidness may score you pity points, but it won't get you farther than that. Believe in yourself just a little, and you'll be surprised at the rewards.

5. Be unique!

Every Jim, Bob, and Joe can flex and grunt, but can they juggle flaming objects? Probably not! Standing out from the crowd will make sure your sweetie's eyes are solely on you.

6. Beautify yourself beforehand.

There's no shame in wanting to look your best for the one you love. Why not try a new peel or moisturizer so your beau will be captivated by your natural glow?

7. Flash those pearly whites!

No one can resist a good smile, especially if it's filled with love.

8. Have fun.

Nothing kills the mood faster than trying too hard. Just focus on having fun with your person and all will be well!

9. Practice your pucker.

Nothing is worse than leaning in, expecting the kiss of your dreams, only to find out your partner kisses like a dog. Don't be this person! Be nice and gentle to start, don't have cardboard lips, and go with the flow.

10. Don't bring up your ex.

There's nothing quite as awkward as having your date talk about their ex. The past is the past, so leave it there for the time being! There's a time and a place for these conversations, but Valentine's Day isn't one of them, unless you like sleeping alone.

11. Have a plan B.

If the night isn't going the way you want it to, try a new tactic! A silky kimono is always a good choice!

12. Be open-minded.

Above all, we have to realize that not everything goes as planned, but that's not always a bad thing! It's disappointing, but maybe it'll end up better in the long run.

Schmidt is the master of love and most definitely the best to go to for advice about the day of love. Follow these steps and you'll have the perfect evening with your date. And if worse comes to worse, just remember that Valentine's Day isn't about love anymore anyway -- it's a consumerist holiday and if your date ends up a bust then it's no big deal!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
