An Update On My Life: Work Vacations, Wildfires, And The Comeback Season

It's been a crazy month of November, to say the least. I can honestly say this is the first time I've actually felt at home in my job. I am starting to understand why people stay and why people don't. The people that leave are the ones that are usually never open up with anyone at my job. The people that stay in this job are the ones that talk to everyone, take that all the opportunities offered within, and try to have fun with the people in the company when the time is appropriate. I've decided to be more open about stuff like this and I am having more fun than I ever thought I would. I didn't realize the number of fun things available to someone within the company. Multiple sporting events, work-stay vacations, and other strange yet unique opportunities are available in my company and I haven't been taking advantage (silly me).

By the way, I am writing this article at five in the morning thanks to my jet-lagged body staying awake in this California airport. Also, the wildfire situation, seriously guys, it's a lot worse than the media is portraying. Seriously ya'll, the air quality, at least where I was at this weekend in Sacramento, was pretty bad. I wish rain upon this great state of California because it is definitely needed here in the West Coast. After heavy consideration, I am still staying in Florida, yes "In N Out" is a great place to eat, but besides that, the wildfires and the high cost of living are enough to drive someone away.

If you all want a reason as to why I tend to stick to these blog-style articles, it's a pretty simple reason. I don't need to follow a certain timeline, and jumping around keeps you all entertained. So, anyways now to the main headline, the comeback season.

2018 has been a year of comebacks in the golfing world. Tiger Woods returns with his 80th win at the Tour Championship, Phil Mickelson goes back into the winner's circle for the first time since 2013, Lexi Thompson wins the LPGA Tour Championship after a frustrating year, the list goes on. If you're a golfer reading this article, even better. If you are a kid reading this article, there is a lesson to learn from this. Everyone knows golf is a game of life and it has its ups and downs. However, you are literally one shot away from the biggest comeback of your life, and it's up to you whether or not you want to come aboard the comeback train.

So yeah, the life update, in a nutshell, is that it's actually pretty damn good. I am still hoping to ride the train of good vibes into 2019 because keeping this positivity up is the key to having a better life.

Alright, I gotta get the hell out of California, this laid-back attitude is something I am not used to. I'm Florida bound, and it's time to get back in the warmth!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
