If UR Freshman Dorms Could Be Characters From Parks And Recreation
Wired

After almost a month here at the greatest place on Earth, people’s true personalities begin to shine. In a true homage to one of the greatest shows ever created, here is a list of freshman dorm personalities paired perfectly with citizens of Pawnee, Indiana’s finest.

Lora Robins Court as Joan Calamezzo

As much as I’d love to give my beloved LoRo my favorite character on Parks and Recreation, Leslie Knope, let’s be real. LoRo girls are some of the hottest messes around. Home of the majority of the freshman women, there has not been a day thus far where there hasn’t been some kind of mess (bed bugs, boy drama, accidents, ambulances, you name it) and honestly, I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. LoRo girls love the spotlight, and you can find them in the middle of the dance floor every weekend. You never quite know what they’re thinking, but you do know that whatever they’ve got in mind, it’s bound to be a good time.

Moore Hall as Leslie Knope

LoRo’s little sister Moore may be lesser in number, but what these girls lack in size they certainly make up in power. Home of the living and learning communities, Moore girls are some of the brightest and motivated freshman on campus. These girls are passion personified, with a capital P, and are always involved in something. The Moore girls are friendly and social, in part due to their proximity to the other freshman dorms, and are always down for a nice conversation with you, but only if their homework is completed.

Robins Hall as April Ludgate

Robins is the freshman dorm everyone forgets about. The freshman girls who live here are well-known solely because they are so rare. “What actually happens in Robins?” wonders every other person on campus. However, these girls still leave an impact with their unparalleled wit and unapologetic individualism.

Marsh Hall as Jean-Ralphio Saperstein

Arguably the craziest of all of the freshman dorms, and the largest male dorm on campus, the Marsh guys are always seen with a certain glimmer in their eyes of mischievousness. It’s almost too easy to classify these two hundred and twenty strapping young men as plain old trouble. Whether they are creating memes on Yik Yak (Marsh 140), stealing as many yellow bikes as they can find (shoutout to the Marsh basement) or just wreaking plain havoc, these guys definitely have a certain style all their own.

Wood Hall as Jerry/Larry/Terry Gergich

Wood bears the brunt of most of the jokes on campus due to its size and disputed relevance. However, these guys are some of the most gracious and inclusive people here at UR. They just love bringing a smile to the faces of those they care about. Wood guys enjoy seeing everyone happy and having a good time; and when you’re with them, not having a good time is simply out of the question.

Dennis Hall as Ron Swanson

No one actually knows what actually goes on in Dennis, and the guys that live there would prefer it to stay that way. These inhabitants are mysterious as UR students can be, and could be described as human riddles. They are the type of guys who appear to be very serious, but could have a Hannah Montana double life as a jazz musician or famous rapper for all we know.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
