It's hard to pick a favorite TV show, so I just say which ones are my favorites. It's always painful to watch a season finale of one of your top few shows because now you have to wait months for the next season to start. Whatever your favorite shows may be, here are a couple of my top few that I think you'll fall in love with, and perhaps even use as a distraction from your own favorite show that you're desperately waiting for to restart.
1) Supernatural
If you haven't heard of this show, it's about two extremely attractive brothers that hunt down the supernatural and save the world time and time again, while preserving the one thing that they hold to be the most important to them: family. This is what I have always loved about this show. No matter what happens, family is the one thing that always comes back to them and their moral values.
It's hilarious at times and also so dramatic that I have actually cried. The sad scenes aren't overly or stupidly emotional, and also not just one little tear being managed to fall, but just utter perfection of such genuine quality. The actors are literally the best in the industry. They're smart and put so much of their own personalities into these characters, but also seriously take on the character as a whole. The humor changes through each season, either ranging from inside jokes that only fans will pick up on to popular culture jokes that everyone would recognize and laugh at.
The show has been going on for twelve years. TWELVE! Not many shows survive for this long. Even Breaking Bad was chosen to end after only five seasons. Supernatural has been going strong for all these years. I'll admit, I've lost interest in a few seasons, but I promise all of you that if you get caught up on the whole story, or if you already have, the upcoming season premiere is next week and is definitely worth while.
2) Pretty Little Liars
Everyone needs to watch this. Even boys. Yes, I mean all of you. Why? Because this show, for some unknown reason, confuses your mind by constantly twisting its storyline and character relationships. Every time they get closer to finding out who the new "A" is––for those of you who haven't watched the show, "A" is an elusive figure that changes identity with the new seasons––they come across another setback that prevents them from finding out, like a character possibly facing death or getting arrested. You know, the usual stuff that happens to high school and/or twenty-something year old girls.
And who could forget what we all want to see in this last season––the relationships. Everyone wants to know what will become of Ezria after our hearts broke when Ezra was seen reuniting with his presumed dead and ex fiance, what will happen to Spoby since Toby has made it clear that he only wants Yvonne, but got into a bloody car accident in the season finale, what will grow between either Emily and Paige or Emison (Em and Ali), and finally, if Haleb will get married. I'm sorry, but they're my favorite!! Come on, you have to admit that the wedding for the last season is going to be theirs... Hopefully.
3) Sleepy Hollow
Haven't heard of this one? Well that's probably because of its severe decrease in ratings and viewers since the beginning of their second season and especially because their lead actress left the show (I don't know why to be honest). But WAIT. Before you scroll down and ignore this one show, give it a chance. Take it from one of their fans. The first season was amazing. If you like old scary stories like the "Legend of Sleepy Hollow," then you would honestly love to watch this show. They do a great job in spanning out the entire spinoff of the legend.
I'll admit, I lost interest in this show, but am willing to give it another chance as its season premiere is coming up. They have an awesome lead actor and some interesting and terrifying plots, so why wouldn't we give it a shot?
4) Fuller House
Remember that show from the late '80s-'90s about a bunch of life lessons from the normal problems that any household with kids and a big family can encounter? No? How about that cute show that the Olsen twins were apparently playing one character? That was Full House. Now, since this show was widely loved for years, they of course made a sequel to it - Fuller House.
Usually, people say that a sequel or a spinoff is always bad; a poor attempt to start a "new" program that's connected to an old one's storyline. But this show is actually catchy. With a new version of the theme song, a recycled storyline that is still endearing, it's cute and pretty funny as it modernized the old ways of the '90s from the original show. Bringing back the main cast was a good move, and wrings in old fans that want to see what has become of their beloved characters.
The upcoming season of Fuller House will be on Netflix in a few months and here's why you should watch it in case you aren't aware: DJ Tanner (whose last name is now Fuller from her deceased husband) is stuck between two heartthrobs, her old boyfriend Steve, and her new coworker Matt, and although she chose to not to choose either one last season, she will obviously have to narrow down her choice some time soon...and it better be this season. I'm for Steve! They just have to fix the slightly infatuated version they created of him. So bring back the old Steve! They belong together.
