Unreliability—It's The Worst

There are a lot of things that can make you an unattractive person, and a lot of those things have absolutely nothing to do with your looks. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the way you act makes people look at you in a certain way. There is a lot that can determine how people perceive you. Although for the most part people’s opinions of you shouldn’t matter, you should try your best to be a decent person.

Your personality plays a huge role in the way people look at you. The things you say, how you react to specific things, and how you go about your day-to-day business shows a lot about you and your character. For a lot of people, the little things are what counts. If you go out of your way to be a good person, it will show and people will typically like you for that. If you’re honest and kind, chances are people will have nice things to say about you. However, if you’re the type of person who has no regard for others, chances are you won’t have a lot of people on your side. It’s not always a great thing when people don’t like you for the way you act and treat others.

In my honest opinion, unreliability is the biggest turn off. Not only are you showing that you don’t have any regard for other people, but you’re showing that you just flat out do not care. It’s pretty disrespectful to be an unreliable person, especially when people need you. Unreliability is something that I’m sure everyone has had to deal with at least one point in their life and everyone knows how much it sucks.

Perhaps you had an experience with someone who said they would show up at a certain time but ended up never coming at all. Obviously things come up and things happen which make plans change. That is to be expected from time to time and it’s totally understandable. But if you’re the type of person to continually break promises and to never keep your word, you’re unreliable, and it’s kind of gross.

Constantly having to make up excuses as to why you couldn’t do something or why you showed up late for the day 17 in a row isn’t a good thing. Sooner or later, people are going to stop coming to you for things. You’ll probably stop getting asked to hang out and essentially your reputation will be slightly damaged.

When people are counting on you to do something or to be there, you should make it a point to keep your word. You should show up when you say you will and you should do whatever you told someone you would. Pushing people off and backing out of things that YOU said you would do is not cool, and it shows your lack of respect for that person.

It’s not hard to be reliable. If you know that you’re going to be late or you know you’re not going to do something, make a phone call. Let someone know your change of plans. Don’t just leave them hanging. I know that a lot of people can agree that unreliable people aren’t the greatest. Just keep in mind that it’s not hard to be a reliable and decent person. Try to remember that with everything that you do.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
