I'm guilty of listening to the same Top 40 hits on repeat. However, these underrated songs all should be treasured for the reactions they elicit. All these songs cover a wide range of genres, though, they should all make you feel like someone shoved liquid happiness into your ear canal.

1. This Song – RAC, Rostam

This spring-vibe song is guaranteed to make you soak up sunshine and a shit ton of pollen. It’s a very happy, slow-paced song. The lyrics describe the feelings you associate with specific songs.

2. Second Guess – Ashworth

Another summer vibe that will make you run 10 kilometers or to the fridge. How can you not be happy and listen to this song?

3. California Dreaming – Arman Cekin, Paul Rey, Snoop Dogg

The heavy piano chords that are staggered throughout the song give a mellow and dancehall ambiance throughout the entire track. A perfect laid-back song to drink Moscato with friends, talking about your hopes and dreams.

4. 33rd – Cupcakke

This is by an artist, who is primarily known for her promiscuity. Her albums are brutally funny and clever. This song, in particular, is a confidence banger on steroids. It has a great beat and will sure help you at the gym—it’s definitely NSFW though. You should definitely make sure to give the music video a watch.

5. Diplomat’s Son – Vampire Weekend

What a mellow college melody this masterpiece is. It’s a soft banger with hints of Jamaican and Paul Simon vibes. This will set the mood for a relaxing night, for one, at home.

6. The Gambler – fun.

“The Gambler” is an amazing ballad from the band fun. While the band may have broken up, this song will definitely solidify your marriage and make your eardrums happy, no matter the volume.

7. I Promise You – Ezra Koenig

While this song may be from the new movie Peter Rabbit, it’s honestly still a great melody about life and love. Ezra puts his heart and soul into the vocals. James Corden covers this song as well, his is—okay. Do yourself a favor and listen to this one.

8. Human – Jon Bellion

If there is a more passionate artist out there than Jon Bellion, point me in their direction. Jon discusses his rise to fame and his how obligations are out of balance. It’s a relatable banger which some heavy undertones.

9. Lola – MIKA

This artist is the reincarnation of Freddie Mercury. His talent is not limited to this track. In fact, his album, The Origin of Love, is, in my opinion, one of the best pop albums of this century.

10. Banana Smoothie – Naked Brothers Band

There is always one song on a playlist that makes no sense.

11. Shine – Supermans Feinde

For 30 seconds you’ll be confused what kind of song you are listening to. Push through it and let your eardrums be blessed when the saxophone comes into play. Even Bruno Mars would do a jig to this beat.

12. Tonight – Felix Cartal, Maja Ivarsson

This bouncy song is pure happiness. I personally go to the gym, make eye contact with a stranger on a treadmill, match their MPH pace. Then, while making eye contact, increase my speed by 1 MPH and put this song on.

13. Bring Back the Summer (feat. OLY) Boehm Remix – Rain Man, OLY, Boehm

Just like the remix to Light It Up by Major Lazer, this remix is so much better than the original. I usually throw this song when I’m about to have a party or smoke some crack—it’s perfect for any occasion.

14. Stardust – Benny Benassi Mix – MIKA

I couldn’t pick only on track from MIKA’s, Origin of Love album. Who needs drugs when you have songs like this?

15. Come Over (feat. Stylo G) – Clean Bandit, Stylo G

This might be one of the more well-known songs on the playlist. I have listened to this song over 100 times and still don’t know the lyrics, but I know it’ll still make me groove. I think is what Drake would sound like if his songs were happier.

I also made a playlist of all these songs on Spotify here.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
