In recent times, everyone is raving over the newest makeup. Whether it's Kylie Jenner's newest line, the best contour kit, how to make your eyebrows on "fleek" or how to apply those tricky eyelashes, makeup has ultimately become a huge topic around the world.
With makeup being such a big corporation, it is only natural that there are thousands of tutorial videos out there as well. With that being said, I, along with many others, have seen my fair share of tutorial videos on how to apply makeup. Most of them have the same ideas and usually use the same products over and over.
I had the privilege of going to high school with one of the newest YouTube sensations, Hannah Burt, and one day, I decided to watch all of her videos. She has always been a beautiful girl, but I noticed something different about her videos. Every video has a new concept and she actually uses different makeup, whether it's eye shadow, lipstick or anything else. The main thing that I love about her videos is the fact that she is 100 percent herself at all times! She's not only amazing at makeup, she's fun to watch!
I already know that she's a good-hearted person, but I wanted to take the chance to show the rest of the world what kind of person she truly is. You can see how she is just by watching her makeup tutorials, but I wanted to take the lights away and ask her some questions that everyone wants to know. Here's what she had to say:
1. What made you want to become a makeup artist?
I have always had a passion for makeup and expressing individuality. I love how being a makeup artist allows me to show my creative side as well as my ability to help women with different techniques and application.
2. Has your makeup career been what you expected it to be thus far?
Absolutely! I have met so many amazing people, from other makeup artists around the U.S. to special friendships and bonds made with clients. I have also learned so many things over the past few years that have helped me get to where I am today.
3. What is your absolute favorite thing about being a makeup artist?
I think my favorite thing would have to be making my client feel beautiful. There is something about seeing their eyes light up and that huge smile when they get to look in the mirror.
4. What are your favorite brands of makeup to use personally?
I work with many different brands of makeup so it's tough to choose a favorite however I would definitely have to say Mac being No. 1, Too Faced, Tarte, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Urban Decay and Makeup Forever. Honestly, I could list more!
5. What foundation do you recommend?
I personally like a full coverage foundation considering I have skin imperfections, so my go-to is Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation. My second favorite is Nars Sheer Glow Foundation which is sheer and hydrating; however, if you're looking for a foundation with medium coverage that's perfect for any skin type, I would recommend Makeup Forever HD foundation.
6. What products do you recommend for contouring?
I think bronzers and contour palettes are excellent for contouring. One of my go-to's for contouring is the Benefit Hoola Bronzer or the Tarte Park Avenue Princess Bronzer.
7. What is your favorite eye shadow pallet and why?
So far I have been LOVING the new Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern renaissance Palette. The colors are so creamy and the choices of shades that are included are simply breathtaking!
8. What is a good moisturizer that you would recommend?
I have used many different moisturizers over the years and one of my go to's would have to be the Lancôme Bienfait Multi-Vital.
9. Your eyelashes are always perfect, what brand have you found to be the best?
I think the best would have to be Lilly Lashes hands down. They are extremely good quality and made of real hairs.
10. What is your favorite look for your eyes and why?
I would definitely have to say smoky eyes. I feel like a smokey eye is my comfort zone because you can use so many colors and textures to create it!

I would have to say right now my favorite makeup trend is the luminous dewy skin look. I think anyone can pull it off and it's very natural and healthy looking.
12. What is your favorite lip brand and color?
Choosing a lip brand is tough considering I wear a different brand almost every day! But I would have to say Mac just because their quality is amazing and they have dozens of colors and textures. My favorite lipstick by them is Honeylove!
13. What is your favorite thing about working for MAC?
My favorite thing would have to be the company letting you actually be who you are at the counter. No matter the age, sex or race, everyone is always welcomed!
14. What is your YouTube channel name?
Hannah Mariee
15. Your YouTube channel is becoming a hit, did you expect it to take off like it did?
I actually did not! At first I was very discouraged because it took several months for me to get to 1,000, but right after that it all rushed in fast! Quality, individuality and consistency is something that I notice is very important when starting a YouTube channel.
16. You have over 4,000 subscribers; is it always positive comments or is there occasional rude ones?
I have had maybe two to three comments that were rude, but the thing you always have to remember when going and throwing yourself out for the world to see is, negativity is something expected. Focus on the positive feedback and make more videos for everyone that supports you.
17. What are your hopes for your YouTube channel?
My hope for my channel is to make a positive impact in someone's life that may not feel confident or beautiful and can look to my videos for tips and tricks, advice or even a laugh!
18. What services do you offer to the public?
I offer many different services that range from prom makeup to bridal makeup and to fashion shoot makeup.
19. If someone wanted to book you, how can they get in touch with you?
I'm available by email at hannahmariee.contact@gmail.com, and you can also find me on Facebook as Hannah Burt.
20. Finally, what would you like to say to your fans?
I would like to just say no matter how much makeup there is in the world, true beauty lies within. Being comfortable in your own skin and loving all your perfect imperfections, to me, is the true meaning of beautiful. I would also like to give a huge thank you to everyone that believes in me and supports me in every way possible. I love y'all so much!
