Still Unbreakable: Season 2 of Kimmy Schmidt

Season two of the amazing Netflix original series, "The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," started streaming this month, and it was just as hilarious as the first one. To recap, Kimmy Schmidt (Ellie Kemper) spent 15 years locked in an underground bunker with three other women. They had all been kidnapped and held hostage by Revered Richard Wayne Gary Wayne (Jon Hamm). Upon their release, Kimmy decided to move to New York to start her life over. She found an apartment, a job, and more than a few love interests — most notably, her GED classmate Dong Nguyen (Ki Hong Lee), who married another classmate for his green card (the only unsatisfying plot line of the entire season). Now, Kimmy has dedicated herself to moving on and making up for lost time.

Meanwhile, her roommate Titus (Tituss Burgess) is having issues in his love life as well. His wife Vonda appeared in the season one finale (shocking everyone), and now she is suing him for spousal support after he walked out of their wedding reception. Kimmy tries to speak to Vonda on Titus' behalf, and she warns Kimmy that Titus will abandon her too. However, Kimmy doesn't let this rattle her, and Vonda and Titus make peace. Soon after, Titus finds real love in a closeted construction worker, Mikey Politano. Being in a relationship forces Titus to confront some of his own issues, particularly his fear of committing to anything and seeing things through. Lillian (Carol Kane) continues her crusade to protect the neighborhood from gentrification. She tries everything from handcuffing herself to a bulldozer, protesting outside a bakery, and scaring off incoming hipsters.

When we last left Kimmy's former employer, Jacqueline (Jane Krakowski), she had returned to her Sioux roots. She was attempting to reconnect with the family she had previously left, but she can't manage to fit in. She decides to return to New York and throw a fundraiser to give back to the Native American community, a feat made more complicated by the fact that she has "only" $12 million from her divorce settlement, and must keep up appearances for the other rich mothers. Jacqueline finds a rival in Deirdre Robespierre (Anna Camp), who decided to forgo a career in order to rule over the New York social scene. She's desperate for some excitement, and can't keep herself from goading Jaqueline into dethroning her. Deirdre was one of the highlights of season two; she had some absolutely hilarious lines and her reactions were so over the top. She went from referencing classical literature to discussing puppy stationary with her husband.

We also hear from two of Kimmy's fellow "Mole Women." Gretchen Chalker (Lauren Adams) is flailing without the guidance of the Reverend, and Kimmy tries to stop her from joining another cult. Meanwhile, Cindee Pokorny (Sara Chase) appears on a talk show hosted by Dr. Dave, aka Jeff Goldblum, to talk about her time in the bunker and to go through with her wedding to her obviously gay fiancé. Co-creator Tina Fey also appears in a few episodes as Kimmy's therapist, who helps her learn not to repress her negative emotions.

" Happy people value their needs as much as others," she tells Kimmy, who up until this point has been letting out all her negative feelings via stinky burps.

Lisa Kudrow makes an appearance as Kimmy's mother, who Kimmy discovers is the source of many of her issues. However, even after confronting her, Kimmy realizes that no amount of anger or blame will change what happened to her. This is what makes "The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" such a good show; underneath the incredible humor, it is also filled to the brim with hope.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
