If you haven't heard, Taylor Swift just announced her 6th album, "Reputation," after a 3-year (!!!) hiatus. In honor of this news, here's a list of her top 13 (see what I did there) songs of ALL TIME.
13. Stay Beautiful
A classic from her 2006 debut album, "Stay Beautiful" is definitely one to remember. Taylor's self-titled album was debuted 11 years ago (WOW), but it's still just as good as her newer music. This song was released during her pseudo-country phase, so be prepared for drawn out vowels from Taylor in this tune.
12. Fearless
"Fearless" is the title track from Taylor's second album, released in 2008. I remember jamming out to this song in my bedroom when I was 10 years old, just dreaming of the day that I would fall in love. "Fearless" may have never reached number 1 on the charts, but it was definitely number 1 in my heart during my preteen years.
11. 22
One of the songs that almost anyone knows the lyrics to is "22." It's a song about living it up and having fun with your friends. "I don't know about you/but I'm feeling 22" is probably one of the most used Instagram captions for people turning "22." This is a T-Swizzle song that people either love or hate. It comes from her 4th album, "Red," released in 2012.
10. I Knew You Were Trouble
"I Knew You Were Trouble" is a testament to all the failed relationships that ended because of the other person. We dated them and knew deep down that they were bad for us, but we still dated them anyway. It makes for a great song to scream in your car during a breakup. It was released in 2012 from her 4th album, Red.
9. Shake It Off
Some people are super in love with "Shake It Off," but it definitely isn't in my top 5. I appreciate the sentiment of the song, and I'm glad she wrote it, but it's definitely not my number 1. It was released in 2014 and it comes from her 5th album, 1989. Haters will always hate, but shakers will continue to shake.
8. Teardrops On My Guitar
Cute high school love is a theme in Taylor's older music, if you haven't noticed. When love or a crush or anything of the sort is not reciprocated, "Teardrops On My Guitar" is your song. It was released in 2006 on her self-titled album. If anyone has ever felt like they were in love with their best friend but couldn't tell them, this is also your song.
7. Sparks Fly
Love song round 8764865. From her 3rd album, released in 2010, "Speak Now." It's cute and I don't know anybody that genuinely hates the song. It's a song that describes the feeling of falling in love and having their happiness be your happiness as well.
6. Blank Space
This is one of Taylor's "rebellious" songs. It's still about love, but it's fast paced, electronic sounding, and she sounds very dominant on the track. I don't know who she wrote this song about, but it sounds to me like it was someone she wanted to be serious with. It is a newer song, released in 2014 off of 1989, her 5th album.
5. Fifteen
I remember being 14 years old and just dreaming of the day that I could fall in love like Taylor did at 15. I wanted "Fifteen" to play out in my mind so badly, but that never happened. It's another song about love and boys and friends and choices (shocker).
4. Bad Blood
THIS MUSIC VIDEO IS KILLER. It's such a well-made video, and it fits so well with the theme of the song. Everyone knows that Taylor wrote it about Katy Perry, AND IT'S GREAT. It's such an anthem for standing up for yourself and not being afraid to do what you think is best for yourself. "Bad Blood" comes from Taylor's 5th album, 1989, which was released in 2014.
3. Wildest Dreams
"Wildest Dreams" is another one of Taylor's relatively new songs. It was also released in 2014 on her 5th album, "1989." It's a cute song about love (as always) and it's honestly one of the most beautiful songs she's ever written. Taylor has a gift for songwriting and performing like nobody else in this generation does, and this song is evidence of that.
2. Mine
"Mine" is a prime example of a cute love song that nobody can be afraid to sing because it's SO GOOD. "Mine" was released in 2010 and is from her third studio album, "Speak Now." It doesn't seem like "Mine" is as old as it actually is, because I totally still listen to it in 2017.
1. You Belong With Me
"You Belong With Me" was and is the epitome of pop music during the 2000s. Taylor Swift inspired all pre-teen girls to go after people they love and not be discouraged by the haters. People aren't always going to like you, but stay true to yourself!!!
