The relationship between a father and a child is hard to put into words. The endless lessons, trials, and secrets create a bond that is unique to each father and their child or children. These dads and children have used music to describe that bond from every aspect: the good, the bad, and the ugly.

From Stevie Wonder, to Hannah Montana, to Zac Brown Band, here are the greatest songs written for dads, about dads, or by dads.

1. "Isn't She Lovely" - Stevie Wonder

Idk about y'all, but this song has a special place in my heart simply because of the fact that it was Harry Styles's audition song on The X Factor. However, its beauty extends much further. Released in 1976, Wonder wrote this song about the birth of his daughter, Aisha. Wonder sings, "I never thought through love we'd be / Making one as lovely as she / But isn't she lovely made from love."

2. "His Dream" - Asher Roth

The greatest sign of a father's love is sacrifice. This song is about the responsibility that comes with becoming a father. Roth sings about a father who is forced to give up his dream in order to take on the responsibility of being a good father and husband.

3. "There Goes My Life" - Kenny Chesney

Fatherhood, like motherhood, isn't always planned or "wanted," for lack of a better term. This song is about a young man becoming a father at a young age, and learning that fatherhood doesn't mean your life is over, but rather that it has taken a new direction.

4. "Daughters" - John Mayer

John Mayer reaches out to fathers in this song, advising them to be good to their daughters and sons from the beginning, as they will give the love they are used to receiving.

5. "My Old Man" - Zac Brown Band

"Now I finally understand / I have a lot to learn / From my old man." This song urges us to take advantages of the lessons our fathers offer us before it's too late.

6. "Just The Two of Us" - Will Smith

Will Smith was inspired by a song by Bill Withers and Grover Washington Jr. when he wrote this song. While the original song, by the same name, was about a love shared by a couple, Smith's rendition is about the love shared by a father and a son. The strength of Smith's fatherly love is heard in the second and third lines of the song where he sings: "From the first time the doctor placed you in my arms / I knew I'd meet death before I'd let you meet harm."

7. "Small Bump" - Ed Sheeran

This song tells the story of the life of an unborn child coming to an end much too soon. Ed Sheeran writes and sings about a father's unyielding love not always being able to protect a child from harm.

8. "Butterfly Fly Away" - Miley Cyrus

Is it even a Father's Day playlist if Billy Ray and Miley Cyrus aren't included? I think not. This *gem* was given to us from the gods in Hannah Montana: The Movie. In the heartstring-pulling song, Miley expresses her gratitude to her father for the sacrifices he made as a single-father in the fictional TV show.

9. "Cats in the Cradle" - Harry Chapin

"My child arrived just the other day / He came to the world in the usual way / But there were planes to catch and bills to pay / He learned to walk while I was away / And he was talkin' 'fore I knew it." This song is about Chapin's relationship with his son, Josh. The blinding message is that you won't get forever with your father, so spend time with him when you can. Like, idk, this Sunday.

10. "Daddy" - Beyonce

"You've given me such security / No matter what mistakes I make you're there for me." Queen Bey is a daddy's girl... who knew?

11. "Another Brick in the Wall (Part 1)" - Pink Floyd

"Daddy's flown across the ocean / Leaving just a memory." Written by Pink Floyd's bassist, Roger Waters, this part of the three-part song is about the death of his father.

12. "He Walked On Water" - Randy Travis

"If the story's told, only heaven knows. / But his hat seemed to me like an old halo. / And although his wings, they were never seen. / I thought that he walked on water." This 1989 country song is about the bond shared between a grandchild and their grandfather.

13. "Forever Young" - Bob Dylan

A father's hopes and wishes for their children are immeasurable; this song lists a few of the big ones.

14. "On My Father's Wings" - Quest For Camelot

Disney's Quest For Camelot tells the story of Kayley, daughter of a deceased Knight of the Round Table, and her journey to save Excalibur. In this song, she sings of her father's presence being with her, though his physical body is gone.

15. "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" - Cyndi Lauper

OK, so this song isn't exactly about a father's love, but it reminds us that we may not always see eye-to-eye with our fathers, and that they're always thinking and acting in our best interest.

Telling your dad how much he means to you can be difficult, so let these singers help you out.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
