When it comes to fashion students living in the heart of New York City, we definitely have some things we want to accomplish. After all, it is a concrete jungle out there filled with many fashion icons who left their mark, and we want to follow closely behind. It’s time to finally see what this type of student dreams of doing during their years of college versus all of the rest.

1. Going to Fashion Week

A glorious week filled with top designers, amazing clothes and all of the best-dressed celebrities within close proximity of each other would make any fashionista’s heart flip with joy.

2. Meeting your favorite designer

With a lot of passion and a hint of luck, fashion students can meet anyone they want. Watch out for us, Karl Lagerfeld!

3. Scoring the internship of your dreams

Any college can say they offer excellent internships, but not many can say it’s with your favorite brand/fashion icon or in a skyscraper with an excellent view.

4. Taking a stroll wearing your new, original design

Nothing is more satisfying than having a large amount of people notice your hard work!

5. Creating the next best trend

Looking out on the streets and seeing other people appreciate your choice in style is pure satisfaction.

6. Going to a launch party

A business party is the new type of party in fashion student’s head. Successfully networking and enjoying yourself in one night is is a job well done.

7. Creating a large following

This is your time to learn and do what you love and it’s also the perfect time to build up an audience for the adventurous ride.

8. Traveling to famous, fashion landmarks around the world

Get out and go to where your heart desires. Fashion is everywhere, but it’s never all the same.

9. Snagging a deal on designer items

Working in the industry has its perks. You never know.that $1,000 designer bag you’re drooling over might only be $500 after you complete the latest stress-induced task at work.

10. Watching the movie character you admired to be you all along

Sure, this industry takes a whole lot of work, but the movie magic it holds is what makes everything priceless and shows where you were meant to be all along.

I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
