This is the week: that magical span of days when most of us haul the majority of our belongings up to our beloved campuses. Whether the commute is long or short, there really isn't any point of driving back to your university without listening to some choice tunes on the way. Here are some of my favorite driving songs for optimal road trip enjoyment. Feel free to add to the list in the comments below!

1. Deeper Well - The Wailin' Jennys

The Wailin' Jennys are probably the coolest string-playing, harmony-enticing, Candadian girl band around. What makes them so awesome, is that they play their string instruments and sing their intricate harmonies all at the same time. Now, so that you're even more impressed, keep in mind that this entire album is from their live concert. This song is perfect for rolling down the windows and jamming Indie Folk style.

2. It's Alright Now - Bombay Bicycle Club

This is one of those songs that you know you've definitely heard in a few movies or on the radio, but never quite got around to putting on your iPod. Well, I found it for you, so go forth and melt into this smooth beat.

3. Daft Punk - Pentatonix

The perfect acapella mashup of all of your favorite radio jams. Didn't like the Pitch Perfect movies? Don't turn away from acapella just yet, give PTX a fair shot, I promise you will find something they've done that you adore.

4. Bang Bang - Green Day

You're going to need to take some time in the car to get familiar with Green Day's most recent single from their upcoming album, Revolution Radio. This song is their perfect modern twist on their classic style, with some American Idiot vibes to ensure you experience all of the feels.

5. Love We Are We Love - The Sea The Sea

The namesake of The Sea The Sea's first album, this song is another head-bobber, perfect for waving your hand against the freeway-induced wind outside the passenger window. This folk/pop/indie duo is a goldmine of great songs with even greater beats and harmonies.

6. Gonna Get Over You - Sara Bareilles

Sara has been breaking our hearts ever since she's exploded into our juvenile hearts and minds via the Love Song music video what was The N, now TeenNick (at least that's how it happened for me). This is a 2014 classic with a catchy chorus and an old-as-time message. You'll probably be humming this as you drag boxes up the stairs of your dorm or apartment.

7. Rehab - Amy Winehouse

Of course, we had to include one of my all-time faves from Queen Amy Winehouse. There's not much that I need to say about this song, it really speaks for itself. Her rich, smooth vocals pair with the classy brassy instruments like they were simply meant for each other.

8. Hawaiian Rollercoaster Ride - Jump5

Is any road trip mix complete with a great throwback section? Absolutely not. This cover by Jump5 for Lilo & Stitch back in the day was my jam. Honestly, it still is, when necessary. It's a fun cover of a cool song that everyone pretends to know the words to.

9. Brown Eyed Girl - Van Morrison

This is such a classic that it simply had to be included in our playlist. It's chill, fun, catchy, and another song that will probably be permanently implanted in your head.

10. Ladies' Choice - Zac Efron (Hairspray)

This song is one of my favorites to just let loose to. Did you really think we were going to get through this entire playlist without at least one musical theatre number? It's so upbeat and fun that you just can't help but dance a little, even while sitting in the car. Plus, it's Zac Efron, and where can you go wrong with Zac Efron? You can't.

11. Rich Girl - Lake Street Dive

This band is my latest obsession. After you listen to this Hall & Oates cover, it very well may be yours, too. Don't be fooled, however, most of what they do is original work, I just happen to love this cover. The lead singer's voice reminds me a lot of Amy Winehouse's powerful pipes and soul, not to mention the love for all of the instruments--not just a guitar and keyboard.

12. Drumming Song - Florence + The Machine

Florence's clear-as-day voice cuts through the harsh drumming beats, to create the perfect recipe for optimal driving music. It's almost like an indie head-banger song, if I'm being honest. This is an oldie for Florence, but it's still one of my favorites from this British band. I would highly suggest turning up the bass and rolling down the windows for this one.

13. Wait For It - Leslie Odom Jr. (Hamilton)

I'm not going to apologize for including more than one Broadway hit on this playlist. Although this isn't one of the famed theatre-raps from Hamilton, Wait For It shows off Leslie Odom Jr.'s fab pipes with a fantastic beat and vocals backing him up. It's definitely one of my jams from the show, and it has potential to be loved by even the typical show tune haters.

14. You Don't Know Me - Ben Folds ft. Regina Spektor

What happens when two of my favorite artists do a collaboration song? I put it on your back-to-school playlist, that's what! This is actually something I've been listening to for quite some time now, since it came out in 2009 (wow I feel kinda old). It's dangerously catchy and a fun song to sing along to in the car.

15. Fine By Me - Andy Grammer

I shamelessly adore this song and this artist. This song is the perfect balance of being your basic, overplayed, desperate-romantic pop song and not being totally terrible. He's a cool dude and this is a cool, cute song to jam to.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
