College kids are in this really weird limbo of being really broke and being really needy. We need food, we need to get sleep, and we need to get new shoes so we can go to the gym to need a better body. The holidays are this wonderfully blissful time of post-finals, home sweet home, and R&R. I look forward to this break for months ahead of time. But when it comes to shopping and spoiling yourself it's terribly hard. So if you're parents, friend, adult, aunt, uncle, grandparent or sibling of a college kiddo's here's my foolproof wish list for Christmas.
1. Waterproof Speaker
Who doesn't love jamming to music in our rooms, at the pool, making dinner, and driving to school?
2. Earphones
These suckers are gold to college kiddos. We lost them all then we're stuck listening to the guy who smacks his gum or laughs too hard in the quiet part of the library.
3. Portable phone charger
These things are gold. Sometimes we have three back-to-back classes and can't get to an outlet but we're waiting on an important email confirming our awesome interview acceptance, these things are gold.
4. Lots of yummy care packages delivered via the school year
Seriously, even an IOU at Christmas will wipe away any sadness if you see a care package delivered to our dorms, apartment, or house because the thought and consideration
5. Starbucks gift cards!
Guys, this is a real one! I was able to get enough gift cards that I didn't buy a single Starbucks for the entire year of 2016! THE ENTIRE YEAR! God bless all the sweet individuals who helped me fight sleepiness with lots o drip coffee!
6. Fuzzy socks!
These are one of my favorite gifts because if I'm at the library, at work, on my way to class, or having a bad day, these fuzzy and comfortable socks can make anyone smile.
7. Apparel!
8. Smell goodies!
We LOVE all kinds of candles, air fresheners, and wallflowers (Bath and Body)! It not only helps that we have small apartments or small dorms, so then the smell just gets trapped in.
It’s the perfect kind of the holiday, but the holidays are not all about gift giving. Its truly about the love for the family, having time well spent, and giving thanks. A little goes a long way and honestly all college kiddos are just glad to be home away from the stress and struggles of being away from home. Remember, it’s the thought that counts!
