A Typical Night Out In College

It's all fun and games until someone cries

A Typical Night Out In College

The weekend. The thing we all wait for after those torturous days of classes. You spend all week figuring out where you are going and counting down the days until you can finally let loose. If you are anything like my friend group you go through these and many other emotions throughout the night. It normally starts out a little like this...

Sitting in your last class patiently waiting for it to be dismissed.

It's your last class of the day and unfortunately, the professor is rambling on about your upcoming exam. You can't seem to keep interests because all you can think about is your night out.

Finally back in your room and your roommate bursts in screaming.

She's the party starter she's just as excited as you are to go out if not more. Mainly the reason why she's ready to start the party at 5:00.

You start getting ready while blasting your favorite songs.

Everyone knows getting ready to go out while listening to music makes you 10x more excited.

You have a slight panic attack when you can't find an outfit.

Somehow you can have a closet full of clothes, even ones with tags still on them and still feel like you have nothing.

After trying on several outfits, you and your girls are ready to go.

"We look hot" Proceeded by many and many pictures.

That first drink of the night is never smooth.

That first drink goes down and for a split second you think to yourself "is this horrible taste really worth it?"........yes.

Eventually making it to the party and seeing all of your other friends.

Screaming. Lots of screaming, as if you didn't just see all of them at dinner a couple hours ago.

Trying to get everyone home in one piece.

Thank God for the Mom of the group, gathering everyone together and somehow getting us home.

Passing by any food place on the way home.

McDonalds fries have never tasted so good.

Of course, the night wouldn't be complete without someone crying.

Anything can trigger a crying session on a night out, an ex-boyfriend sighting, a fight with a friend, even not getting a mcflurry from McDonalds. There's really nothing we don't cry over during nights like these.

After all of this, you just can't wait to do it again next weekend.

So cheers to the weekends, the ones we remember and the ones we don't. The friends and memories we make, may they carry on forever.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
