In the fitness driven era that we live in, everyone is trying to become fit. We want to lose that extra freshmen 15. We want to become those, “strong is the new skinny” girls who lift and drink kale smoothies. Women are the target of stereotypical talk. I mention that I’m heading to the gym and the typical female gym stereotypes start to flow in. Yeah, it’s annoying. And for the women who actually put in the work, it can be very frustrating. You don’t have to be a fitness junkie, an Instagram fitness model, or a heavy lifter. But, if you’re going to the gym, go for the intended purpose.

1. The Social Queen

This is probably the most annoying kind that you will find at your fitness center. This is the girl who makes her rounds at the gym while making sure to stop everyone she knows in order to initiate a full-on conversation. Although her cardio game must be strong from going from one end of the gym to the other a million times, she is definitely not doing much to reach any of her fitness goals. You can spot her in her regular fitness outfit while not not breaking a sweat. She always has her phone in hand and a companion by her side.

2. Fitness Fashion Runway Model

Okay, first let’s just point out that these girls' outfits are always on point. She is color coordinated from the tank and pants to her shoes and socks. You can basically take her out of a magazine. You won’t catch her without her skin and makeup looking flawless. With a couple of hair flips after attempting a set of squats, you notice all the guys’ eyes steer her way. Then, her mission is accomplished and she decides that squats just aren’t for her. She hair flips one last time and heads to the other end of the floor to try ‘something new’.

3. Aspiring Fitness NPC Competitor

These women put in a lot of work to earn their physique. But, they’re basically a hybrid of a ‘Fashion Runway Model’ and a heavy lifter. You can spot this future ‘NPC Champion’ taking a quick selfie after each set or lifting her shirt to make sure her ab definition has not eroded because of the extra macro she consumed earlier for lunch. She has also been seen ‘stretching’ in her competition heels. Don’t get me wrong, these women are goals. But, can you save the quick selfies and shirt raises for the mirror at home?

4. The ‘Plain Jane’ Regular

Let’s take a moment to give a round of applause for these women. These are the ones trying to beat the stereotype. They’re probably at the gym more than any of those listed above, but in a less obvious manner. They come in everyday with a plan and don’t have much time to mess around. You spot them drowning in sweat, wearing a plain old T-shirt, and a face that shows no emotion. These are the girls you definitely don’t want to come up to in the middle of a set. They’re at the gym with a purpose. Most likely, they already have super busy lives. Yet, they still put fitness as their priority. Now, these women are the ones we should be aspiring to be: Reaching fitness goals while still maintaining a very healthy lifestyle balance.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
