As a recent high school graduate, I can't help but reflect on all of the memories that were created over the last four years. Many of these memories were formed because of the teachers that I had. Some teachers were awesome, and others were not so awesome, as I think is the case with every high school. Awesome or not, they have all left a lasting impression on me in some way. Here are the types of teachers that I have had the pleasure to meet, and assume are common in many different high schools.
1. The Creepy One
This teacher makes frequent, slightly sexual advances toward the female students but is still pretty nice and well-liked enough so that he never gets in trouble for it.
2. The Experienced One
This teacher has been at the school for years and knows everything you could ever want to know about the school, the other teachers or the subject they teach. This teacher is also probably the best teacher you have had because while they are most likely really challenging, they are also extremely kind, encouraging and reasonable.
3. The Egotistical One
This teacher loves himself... a lot. He tends to favor the girls and treat them very nicely while he picks on the boys in the class because he feels threatened by an outspoken, confident male presence.
4. The Nice One
This teacher is super nice to everyone, but sadly, that's all they have going for them. They are usually really confused and totally out of it. Everyone loves this teacher because they are really chill and let you do whatever you want, which unfortunately, makes this teacher one of the worst you've had.
5. The Foreign One
This teacher is a foreign language teacher who is still very foreign and has a hard time speaking English/communicating in any other language besides the one they teach. You always feel bad for them when you see them in the hall because they look so lost and confused.
6. The Fun One
This teacher is extremely fun and makes everyone laugh, but they get distracted daily and go off on crazy long tangents. However, they still manage to get stuff done and be a good teacher. You probably love going to this teachers class everyday because it's always exciting and engaging.
7. The Un-Fun One
This teacher also gets distracted like the previous teacher, but is no where near as fun as the other. This teacher can spend a whole class period talking about their family (which bores the heck out of the class), and they don't manage to get stuff done like the "Fun One." Since so much time is wasted in this class, everyone ends up being rather confused with the material.
8. The Motherly One
This teacher is like your second mom. She would do literally anything for her students and wants only the best for them. She most likely refers to her students as her "babies," "angels," or "children."
9. The Enthusiastic One
This teacher is really kind and loves the subject that they teach, but for some reason they don't believe in review because "we've been doing this stuff everyday in class." Usually, everyone does poorly on tests because of this. This teacher wants you to do well, and feels bad when you fail, but won't change their weird policy on review.
10. The Unbearable One
This teacher is just plain awful and you can't stand them, whether it be because of their screechy voice, teaching style, personality or a combination of all three. We're sorry, you're probably an okay person outside of school, but we just do not like you.
11. The Strict One
This teacher is really strict in school, hates cell phones in class and terrifies everyone, but you can tell that this teacher has a wild side and would be so much fun to go out with on the weekend.
12. The One Who Shouldn't Be Teaching
This teacher is either too young or too old to be teaching already/still teaching. They have no authority over the class, making it easy for them to be taken advantage of. The students probably know the subject material better than the teacher and could teach it better as well.
