The world of online dating has been on a definite upswing the last few years, and much of that has to do with the popularity of the mobile app, Tinder. Most of our generation knows what it is. Most of us either have an account on it or knows someone who does. There are some Tinder success stories, don't get me wrong—I've heard of them—but more often than not, there are #epicfails. Whether you meet the love of your life or have just another friendly conversation—you're sure to meet these six typical Tinder-ites.
1. The group photo addict
This person has five pictures uploaded and they are all group shots. Said person will also be in a completely different place in the group pictures and go through several different hairstyles and style phases in those five swipes. You have a choice: either roll with this enigma or swipe left.
2. Puppies... so many puppies
Puppies are a weakness for most people. They are just adorable, and if you have that in your profile pictures, right swipes are in your future. However, a beware that most of your swipes are going to be because they want to play with your dog. It has nothing to do with you.
3. The pickup line master
This person will match with you and hit you with a classic. Although not always wholesome, these pickup lines can be quality. "Are you religious? Because you are the answer to my prayers." "Wow." "Your smile is like expelliarmus—simple but disarming."
4. The person who just really wants you to know their physical characteristics
This person puts their physical statistics in their bio. "I'm 5'10. I weigh 175 lbs. I have brown hair and blue eyes." Like, I'm sorry. Why do I need to know this information? Make yourself sound interesting. Give me a fun fact.
5. The person who thinks they are funny
There are those people who will try to swoon you with their jokes and their comedic timing. However, often it seems like they are trying too hard. It's best to just humor them, honestly.
6. The functioning members of society
These people usually start their conversations by saying "Hello, nice to meet you." They are fans of small talk and usually looking for "something that's real." These people are few and far between but every once in awhile they are sweet—proceed with caution.
