So I want to conduct a sort of social experiment. I want to see the array of opinions and views regarding the presidential race, because I know that most everyone is going to have an opinion. To do this I think that I will just lay out my opinion of the presidential candidates, republican and democrat, and just start a conversation. I want responses and the more the merrier. Thank you in advance for those who participate.
For better structure, I am just going to structure this by candidate and also put the current polling numbers next to their name. The Poll is according to Bloomberg because who trusts NBC and CNN and...ugh, FOX.
Republican:
Donald Trump: 21%
Yeah, let's talk about him right off the bat. Trump is an extremely successful businessman. He is the 133rd richest man in America and proud of it. I have a lot to say about Trump, but to start I just want to say that I respect his business ventures and success throughout his career. Though his personality shows a sort of idiocracy (hey did you see that movie?) about him, he still must have some talent to have had all of this success.
He's a f*****g idiot. He utilizes honesty in all of the wrong ways. Trump bluntly says anything that pops into his big head. Also let me add that he looks like Franklin, you know that kids show with the talking turtles. He looks like if franklin grew up to be a total a-hole. His proposition to deport 11 million Mexican immigrants was utterly ridiculous. He consistently treats women, immigrants, Mexicans (my grandfather is Mexican by the way), Asians and people below the poverty line as if they are less than human, disrespecting them in ways that reminds me of what middle schoolers do. A true man-child. AND HE"S WINNING. You would think that people could see that he's not a great candidate and obviously does not respect the election process nor the American public. He makes me really mad sometimes...
Ben Carson: 17%
Ben Carson is the Republican I would vote for right now. Period. But he definitely didn't start that way. He seemed unprepared for the first debate and that was my impression of him. He was unprepared to take the leadership role, but following this most recent debate. He's pretty cool. He is absolutely rubbing the fact that he isn't a career politician in the faces of the other candidates and I think that's awesome. Elections should not just be for politicians, it's for anyone who wants to be a leader. He was calm and collected and I liked it a lot. As of right now, Carson is my frontrunner. Oh, and he's a neurosurgeon at one of the best medical schools in the nation. Respect, Carson.
Jeb Bush: 13%
Ahh the Bush Dynasty continues. Yeah sure, he can speak Spanish and that's impressive. Pretty funny coming out of him. To be honest, he looks like if Beaker, the muppet, were an adult. Here's a picture
Probably just me. Anyway his education plan is not what we need and is definitely not the way our education should go to improve. And yes we need to improve. But he is proven in Florida to manage the economy well through hardship and come out successful. I am totally for Jeb as a governor, but I don't like him as the president because we need change. He is giving us the same old George Dubya style.
Carly Fiorina: 11%
I don't like Fiorina. As she oversaw the massive technology merger between Compaq and HP which ended up being very unsuccessful. In the three years following the merger (2002-2005), HP lost so many jobs that the merged firm employed the same amount of employees as pre-merger HP and Compaq combined. I don't think she can fulfill her plan for president and the job will be overwhelming for her.
Marco Rubio: 8%
I almost have the same problem with Rubio as I do with Fiorina. He has yet to prove he can be a successful governor, ergo president. Also his huge elephant ears are distracting. Have you seen those things??
Sorry, I'm not going to talk about the other republicans right now, we'll see how this experiment goes and go from there.
Democrat:
Hillary Clinton: 33%
Do you trust Hillary? I don't. But that should apply to almost all politicians. She has some good ideas, but this whole email scandal has really ruined her. I think there is a bunch of corruption and under the table dealings within the White House and I also think that Mrs. Clinton is a large contributor to this. For this reason, she knows how the White House works and all of the workings of the White House. Also she wasn't very good at her job, not to the caliber that she could have been. I no longer think I could vote for Hillary Clinton, I do not trust her.
Bernie Sanders: 24%
Bernie is my favorite candidate in this race. He has the upmost respect to the political system and is fighting to clean the political system of the current rampant corruption that is all to visible in this debate. He respects all races, ethnicities, genders, sexes and just people in general. I love that. He has used the importance of social media to his advantage and made the case for a suffering america with hard facts and foreseeable problems. If we want to fix how screwed up America can be, I think Bernie is the guy that can take us there. But I could be completely wrong, honestly his plan might not work here. But I think he's our best shot.
Side Note: Sorry, Biden doesn't get my opinion today. Maybe in another article.
You may ask, why am I doing this? Do you just want to blow up your mailbox or what?
And to be honest, I don't have to do this, but I think educated talk about something so influential in society is only helpful to making educated choices that will benefit society. So I ask anyone who reads this, and like this article, to just share in this conversation.
