When you think 'band' what do you think? Music? A group of dudes? Let me stop you right there. Forget everything you think you know about bands because there is a band who may not necessarily fit the criteria you already have. Composed of simply two members (Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun), Twenty One Pilots is a band no one should ignore. In 2015 they released their third album, "Blurryface," which has gotten a great deal of attention. Their fan base has definitely increased. Their trending song right now is "Stressed Out," which was introduced in the summer of 2015.
Not only are their original songs (written by Tyler) a perfectly crafted in a sense that lures you to explore thoughts hidden way behind your mind, their cover songs are also insanely spot on, one cannot help but replay them! It is evident that when a band covers a song, they keep a sense of who they are in their covers, but they are just so incredible. (They are very popular for their cover of "I Can't Help Falling in Love With You," by Elvis Presley.)
They are so dorky and sincere that you become intrigued to learn more about them. Fun fact: whenever they are asked to talk about how they met or why they started the band they lie. Yes! They make up a random, most of the time outrageous story as to how they met/started the band.
They also started a '"phone pinching challenge," which got an excessive amount of attention on social media. This challenge is wild! Basically you pinch your phone from one corner at the very edge and either hold it over or between somewhere that can have a drastic effect on it. As crazy as the idea sounds, many fans and people who heard of the challenge took it on, obviously not all resulted as planned and some phones were seriously injured. The purpose is still to be stated aside from adrenaline.
They held a 24-hour poll on Twitter where fans were able to vote on who was their favorite, but wait, there's more, they both agreed that if they lost the poll they would get the other's name tattooed on them. They created a whole campaign and we serious about getting one's votes. It was extremely entertaining to keep up with their campaign both on and off Twitter.
This band's music is iconic. Their concerts are such a thrill. Simply watching a video of their live performances on YouTube, you feel hyped. They have appeared on shows such as "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" and the "Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon." Each time you hear news from them, it is never disappointing. This is most definitely a band to keep an eye on. And if you see them trending again soon, don't be surprised.
