Mother always knows best.

20 Times Mom Was Actually Right

They weren't kidding when they said mom was always right. They also weren't kidding when they said she had eyes in the back of her head. I always get mad at my mom for all the constant reminders that seem so irritating in the moment, but turns out she just might be on to something after all.

Here are 20 times mom was right.

1. Bring a jacket.

We know nighttime is always colder than the daytime, but for some reason this just doesn't sink in.

2. Lock the door.

This is just common sense.

3. Be kind because you never know what others are going through.

This applies to the times when you just want to rip someone a new one but instead you bite your tongue.

4. It doesn't matter what other people are doing.

You don't always have to follow the crowd, be your own person.

5. You should always wear sensible shoes.

If I'm ever between two pairs of shoes and ask my mom which pair I should wear, the first thing out of her mouth is always, "Well what pair will you be more comfortable in?"

6. Make sure you eat breakfast.

I've got one word to sum this up - hangry.

7. Put sunscreen on, even if you think it's lame.

Your skin will thank you 10 years from now.

8. A few great friends are all you really need.

Quality over quantity, always. And don't forget, your mom does qualify as a friend!

9. Consolidate your trips.

Plan out your day so it makes sense! If you need groceries today and you know you will probably need more shampoo next week, get it all at once. Not only are you saving your time, but you're saving your gas too!

10. Get a good night's sleep.

This has the power to remedy a number of problems, and believe it or not, you will always feel better in the morning.

11. Though it's hard to believe now, it's not the end of the word.

Remember when you failed that test, had your heart broken, or got a really bad haircut? Mom was right; time heals all!

12. Never text and drive.

It's not worth it. Whatever it is can wait. Buckle up while you're at it too!

13. Don't grow up too fast.

Seriously, the nostalgia is real.

14. Nothing good ever happens after midnight.

Now that you're able to stay out late and know that after midnight, everything is just one large sh*tshow, apologize to your mom for being mad at her all those nights in high school when she wouldn't let you stay out all night with your friends.

15. I just don't like her.

If your mom didn't like her back then, chances are you still aren't friends with her now. My mom liked most of my girl friends, but there were some she just didn't trust. She was right, they turned out to be terrible friends.

16. I hope the dress you picked is appropriate.

There are some pictures you just refrain from posting on Facebook because you know your mom will make a comment about your shorts being too short, or whatever the case may be. She does have a point.

17. He doesn't deserve you.

It's true, he didn't back then and he still doesn't now.

18. Keep track of your spending.

I still don't understand how to balance a checkbook, but just make a mental note of where you're spending what.

19. Try your best.

Your best is all anyone can ever ask from you.

20. When she tells you she loves you more than anything.

She especially wasn't kidding about this one. No one would ever take the time to remind you of all these things over and over if they didn't care about you a whole lot.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
