Twenty Things to do Over Spring Break
Mark T. Hardy II

Well, everyone, we made it! Midterms are finally over and spring break has arrived at last. That's right, you heard me! There's no need to stress anymore...at least not until the next half of the semester starts. But in the meantime, you have so much freedom now! So why wait on and worry about grades when you can relax for once without any repercussions? The world is your oyster again , which means anything you want to do, you can!

So you do just that, and for the first day or so, it's pretty great, but after that, you're probably starting to get a bit bored and unsure of what to do with yourself and your time. If that's the case, I may have just the remedy for you. Here are twenty pretty neat things you can do during your spring break!

1.Sleep! Nothing more needs to be said here.

2. Stargaze (Because, why not? It isn't like you've anything better to do!)

3. Go see a friend! They still matter...right?

4. Read a book! If you can still read for fun, that is, after all of that required reading for school and all.

5. Stress about grades anyway despite my warnings (You know you will!)

6. Go to the gym! Exercise something other than your brain for once!

7. Eat to your heart's content, because you're home now and budgets aren't a thing over there!

8. Compose an entire list of things that you want to do over the break.

9. Tear apart that same list, because you already know that you won't ever actually carry out any of the things listed.

10. Sit back and have a chat with your parents. What? Do you have a problem with parental bonding?

11. Socialize! I mean, you have to start somewhere, right?

12. Go to a concert or two...that is, if you have the money for it, of course.

13. Netflix...I mean, sure, if you just want to waste your whole break away...

14. Play a video game. Everyone does eventually, once they've run out of ideas for anything else.

15. Go to an amusement park, or beach! Those are still fun, aren't they?

16. Bake a cake. Because you deserve it and need something sweet and spontaneous in your life.

17. Retreat to a corner and bang your head against the wall in confusion and frustration as it's the second half of your sophomore year and you still haven't figured out what you want to do with your life.

18. Proceed to cry because you also just realized that you wasted your whole week contemplating what to do with it and never actually did anything with it.

19. Pack your things and prepare for the long drive back to your campus and dorm room.

20. Cry some more because you have classes first thing in the morning the next day.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
