Within just a short amount of time, twenty one pilots has become a huge inspiration to all kids, teenagers, and adults. Although the band has been part of the game for a while, their loving and meaningful words, chill vibes, understanding lyrics, and comfortable sound has made fans worldwide fall in love with them. The greatest thing about twenty one pilots is to understand their music you must understand yourself.
Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun not only write their feelings into song, they break the status quo. The band has become famous by being themselves throughout their journey and not letting the media and industry control their creativity. If these aren't great role models, I'm not sure what is!
Twenty one pilots music is different, which is one of the hard parts about people really getting into their music. They don't have a set idea in what they want to be. One minute they could be strumming a very chill beat, the next it could be dark and understanding, after that he may scream us a couple notes. The cool part about this all is the music goes with the way they feel, so the sound always changes and it's never the same!
The idea of twenty one pilots is almost like a never ending story. We listen to Tyler sing and the song always has a meaning. A lot of times in life we go through things we can't handle, most of us don't have it easy, which is why we will ask you to excuse us while we sing to the sky. An example of this never ending story with them would be their biggest alum Blurryface. We listen to these demons or this demon, which is what they call their Blurryface, take over, his darkness set in and him become lost in a empty world, full of people. With each song he's begging for someone to help him defeat these demons because he doesn't want to do it alone, while also making it a point that you never really are alone, because there is always someone there going through what you are, defeating them together. As you reach the end of the album his last song is "Goner". The song really wraps everything together.
To most people the song "Goner" could be a little hard on the ears, but if you take the time to really listen to them progress into his scream, you can see that Tyler himself is on the edge of having enough of his 'Blurryface' controlling him, his reasoning behind screaming, he is screaming away the pain, the sadness, the darkness, these bad thoughts he doesn't want around. The song ends very softly, almost like he did it enough that it worked. We just listen to a man want to change his life around and do it, and the power within not just this song but the album itself gives off a lot of strength for other people to do it as well.
The most loving thing about Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun is they see what they have gone through and make this music so people know they aren't alone in it all. To be honest with you it's not music, it's a feeling. It is something telling you you're worth it, it's sound telling us that a we are broken people, but we are broken together, it's a group of people that you can finally say you've found a home within, it's a beat of a drum, the scream of a voice, the sound of the ukulele, Tyler and Josh, telling us to stay alive, where can you find a band that their main goal is to make you feel more then you are, make you feel less a lone, make you feel beautiful? Twenty one pilots isn't just music, it's so much more than that.
