'Twas the week before Spring Break, and all through the state
Exams were occurring, an unfortunate fate
With alarms going off at the ass crack of dawn
After four hours of sleep, and studying all night long
In those four short hours, students were snug in their beds
while visions of margaritas danced in their heads
With plane tickets booked, and all the bags packed
They day-dreamed of the fun that was soon to be had
Monday brought a struggle that everyone feared
With break so far away, it was hard not to tear
Five exams, three essays and no time for the bar
That trip to Cancun never seemed so far
Tuesday, a day closer, but little has changed
Engineering and Psych still filling your brain
Making it through seems nearly impossible
Can’t help but to wish all the exams were optional
Waking up Wednesday, only wanting vacation
Too easy to wonder if you need education
What will it take to get over this hump
How many more tests must you take till you’re out of this dump
Thursday brings hope, a glimmer of freedom
So close, yet so far lays the Spring Break season
Margaritas are nearing, the sun’s never looked brighter
Just a few more midterms, the load slowly gets lighter
FRIDAY AT LAST! Never thought it would come
Just a few hours stand between you and the sun
Hand in that last essay, kill that exam
Then throw your bags in the car, and finally scram
A whole week to yourself, it comes and goes in a blink
A week filled with suntans, friends and tons of mixed drinks
Back at school teachers ask if you read chapter eight
Frustrated, you scream...
