'Twas the night before Bid Day and all through Greek Row, not a was frat boy gawking nor sight of a hair bow. Active members were excited to finally be free of the lock in, and were anxious to forget how stressful their week had been.
The PNMs were sleeping restlessly in their dorm beds, while dreams of bid cards danced in their heads. With much left to do and recruitment week departed, the preparations for bid day had just gotten started.
When down in the chapter room there was a huge mess, but with sorority girls crafting you'd expect nothing less. As the hours passed and their working pace slowed, the energy in the room was at an all time low.
Name tags still unassembled and goodie bags yet to be packed, nobody's sanity seemed to be intact. Just when the girls were thinking bid day wouldn't be any fun, the Sponsor Chair returned from her last minute WalMart run.
She motivated and encouraged her sisters to give the crafting their all, and promised their new bids would definitely have a ball. She called out orders and assigned each to a committee, and as each of them grumbled she said, "Come on girls, you've got to stay with me!"
"Ok, Steph and Mackenzie, go work on the banner. After the festivities are over, I promise you can get hammered. The rest of you girls, get your glue guns, there's only a little time for all of this work to be done!"
With paint, Modge Podge, and glitter flying, to say it was less than chaos, I would be lying. They cranked up the Spice Girls and sang as they went, and they made the best out of the time they had all spent.
There was talk of other chapters and how their rush had gone, who would have the best babies they wondered as the night went on. Bid day crept closer and closer as the chatter continued, when somebody finally asked "Does any one have the Jimmy John's menu?"
They glued and glittered 'til they couldn't any longer, their desire to sleep couldn't be stronger. They planned out their outfits before they fell into their bed, and fell asleep to the thought of the pictures they would take tomorrow running through their heads.
It was 3 in the morning when the lights finally went out, yet there was still much excitement for tomorrow to come about. Greek row was quiet, not a member was roaming. Everyone was waiting to find their new homes in the morning.
