This past weekend was my first homecoming as a student at Tuskegee University. I’m originally from Tuskegee, but there is something different when you actually take part in all of the events. From the comedy show to the game, everything was a success. Tuskegee homecoming is known all over the world for their exciting events and people from all walks of life coming to celebrate with their alma mater. One of my favorite parts of homecoming is being able to turn up with the band while singing “Whether sunny or gray we gone ball and parlay! We get crunk everyday! That’s the Tuskegee way." If you haven’t gone to an HBCU homecoming, it is a must. It is a good way to get away for the weekend and be around good vibes while networking with intelligent African Americans. There is a variety of food from black-owned businesses. People I haven’t seen all year I get a chance to reconnect and hang out with them for the weekend. I honestly can say I enjoyed my freshmen year homecoming and I can’t wait til next year. I hope I will see you there!
