To The People Trying Their Best, You Deserve The Biggest Shout Out

It's really hard to look around you and feel like your best isn't good enough. You get caught in a cycle of comparing yourself to others whether it's via social media, school work, a job or just day to day accomplishments. It's really hard when you feel like everything you're doing is just mediocre compared to everyone else. You feel like a failure but sometimes, you need to remember that you're just doing your best.

So shout out to those who are doing their best day in and day out.

It's so easy to compare yourself to others and to feel like you're not good enough, but don't worry, you're still doing your best. That's all you can really do and that's all anyone can really ask of you. And to be honest, if your best isn't good enough for those around you, then you need to reevaluate those people in your life. Your best is all you can do. It's not worth trying to be someone you're not or stressing yourself out all of the time, thinking you aren't good enough. It's easy to feel like you don't measure up because this world we live in is always comparing people to one another, but you need to remember that everyone else in this world doesn't define your worth — you do.

Doing your best can feel like it's not always good enough, but you have to just keep pushing through and trying. It doesn't hurt to always try your hardest, regardless if you get rewarded every step of the way. It's the small things that add up, in the long run, to actually be something worth celebrating and being proud of. It's hard to look at a small accomplishment like just making it through a day or doing a good job on an assignment as really thriving. Those small things though are what get you noticed in the long run. It shows that you never gave up and kept doing your best and didn't let comparing yourself to others get in the way of making yourself feel accomplished.

So make sure to celebrate the small wins. Celebrate yourself, even if it's tiny steps along the way, like getting out of bed in the morning or making it through another day at work or at school. Know that some people are rooting for you (like me!) no matter what you're going through, as long as you're trying your best. Don't let the shallow jerks of the world ever make you feel worthless because they can't see the potential in you or how hard you are trying.

So shout out to you — just keep doing your best. It'll pay off eventually, and it'll definitely be worth it.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
