For all food enthusiasts,

Out of all the things in this world to be obsessed with, obviously my obsession correlates with my favorite F word: food. I've lived in the state of Iowa for the last 21 years and these restaurants are ones to remember. I like to think of myself as a food enthusiast. This doesn’t mean I eat anything and everything. This actually, kind of, makes me a food snob. I say the word ‘snob’ because through experiences I’ve created a personal judgement system creating biases and beliefs I am passionate about defending. Defending such as I would testify for these restaurants as the top 5 in the state. Evaluating the quality of the dish carefully understanding which methods were put into place to create the dish. For instance, anyone who has made creme brûlée understands the creation is an art form. Not just for your taste buds, but for culinary creators. I have the same love for food in the sense that I respect it and am interested in the process taken to create it. Being a food enthusiast means being addicted to trying and discovering new foods. If interested in a life changing culinary experience in the state of Iowa, I'm confident you will not regret giving restaurants these a try.


Aunt Maudes — Ames, Iowa
