For most of you, your siblings were your best friends growing up, the first playmates you had, the first enemies you made. But if you're like me and you're the oldest, by many years, there's certain things that you experience on almost a daily basis. If you know what age gap I'm talking about, then you know these things to be true:

1. You have an imagination unlike all of your other friends...

Kids can open up your eyes to so much more. What used to be a toy gun is now the reason my brother has more cookies than me...

2. You suck at making decisions... because they always do that for you

They are the real-life magic 8 ball. Deciding where to eat is simple. They have answers for everything... even if the answer is Wegmans cafe every time, there's always an answer.

3. "No, he's not mine."

You know exactly what these words mean... If I had a dime for every dirty look I got being a 15-year-old, walking around with a 2-year-old... Although, sometimes it's fun to tell them he's yours and see the reaction you get.

4. Not having anything that is really "yours"

Suddenly everything you have becomes theirs too. They will find a use for it. Anytime you get something for yourself you hear, "Is that for me?" But hey, sharing is caring... right?

5. You would rather do "kid" things than party

Going to an arcade or laser tag sounds like more fun than going clubbing. Not to mention your stress relief often involves crayons and coloring pages.

6. You still get excited about celebrating the holidays

As you get older, birthdays get depressing, holidays become more boring, and nothing is really the same. But with siblings too young to know the truths about it? It's like reliving it all over again!

7. You always have someone to cheer you up

They don't usually know what's upsetting you and if they do, they don't understand it on the right level. But they do know how to cheer up and always give the best hugs!

8. You know more kids songs than adult songs

When your friends get in your car and hear the most recent Disney soundtrack... Then they change it to "adult" music and you realize that you don't actually know those words...

9. They're your #1 fan no matter where you go

Your team could be down by 20 baskets, 4 goals, or 12 runs... But you'll still hear "GO SISSY" coming from the sidelines.

10. Friday nights are never boring

No plans Friday night? No worries. Friday nights at home with the younger siblings are never boring...

11. New boyfriends must first be approved by the little ones

Younger siblings tend to ask just as many questions as your parents... the only difference is that the little ones don't have much of a filter.

Having siblings that are almost young enough to be your own is honestly one of life's greatest blessings. Enjoy the cute times while you can.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
