According to the media, the last three weeks of the summer have been the worst weeks of Donald Trump's candidacy. Many Pundits agree, recent polls have Trump trailing Clinton in states that he easily took during the primary season; states that he never expected to have to fight for against Clinton.
But with all this chatter about Trump's candidacy going through a rough patch there have been some major changes with in the campaign itself as well as more importantly in Trump's tone. This new tone was shown in a rally on Thursday night in North Carolina which exemplified how the candidate is trying to reinvigorate his candidacy and campaign for president from what the last three weeks have shown. One thing that is for sure is that the medias coverage of Trump has been non-stop. As you can probably recall from other articles written, there has been a bias tone on certain channels against Trump's candidacy while other channels are very happy to promote his candidacy even in the seeming worst of times.
An interesting aspect of Trump's candidacy stems from the fact that he is an outsider. For most of the primary season he ran on the platform of blaming incompetent politicians for what they had done to this nation. Suddenly three weeks ago, post-convention, that message was no longer bringing in any new supporters as can be reflected through recent polls taken in key battleground states between Trump and Clinton where Trump trails Clinton in some cases by double digits.
While Trump's candidacy by many was deemed a fail from the very beginning his tactics and the way by which he readily changes his team strategy shows how flexible his campaign has become throughout this election season. It seems that the general election season specifically has brought in many new faces to the Trump campaign. For Trump, new perspective on the general election season and different views are to attribute for the seeming turn around in his tone.
From the very beginning many blamed Trump's tone for his inability to connect with minority groups and other key groups needed often times to win a Presidential election.
However, both candidates have their own share of major issues with their campaigns. On the one hand Trump is known for being rash and sometimes aggressive in his stances against certain groups or with the comments he makes. However Clinton is dealing with problems of trust and truthfulness. In this way both campaigns almost feed off the negative media they receive because they both are in someway receiving a certain amount of pressure for what their candidacies lack.
Trump's attempt to bring in new voters by making his tone more inclusive might seem like a last ditch effort, but, the reality is that even during past Presidential elections the last three months of the general election cycle were the months that proved a candidate, like Ronald Reagan, strength to become president.
Many people say that the polls right now don't reflect much and to a certain extent that is true. Most Americans when asked still are not decided whether or not they will even vote in this year's general election let alone which candidate they will be voting for. However with Trump's new tone and the efforts by the Clinton campaign to keep quiet on media and wiki leak reveals of Clinton Foundation emails there is a turning point occurring for both campaigns. This turning point encompasses a change in the tide of the election season from the post-convention bliss to the face to face debating that will help determine who will become the next president of the United States. Both candidates are ready for the full force of the general election season to begin.
