Trump's Ban On Citizens... Who's Next ?

It hasn't even been two weeks since Donald Trump has taken office, and yet he's doing what he's promised by "Making Amerikkka White again"... I mean "great" again. Last week every minority's nightmare had already started. In regards to the chaos I wanted to acknowledge a poem and reflect on it.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me

This poem was written by a Protestant Pastor during the time when Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party were capturing and executing an entire group of people. Although the poem was written almost 80 years ago, it is very relevant now.

Trump has made many efforts already that have caused damage to Women, by taking initiative to defund Planned Parenthood.

He has also pushed the projects of continuing the building of DAPL, which comes after the lands of, the already extinct, Native Americans.

And we ALL know about the 8 billion dollar plan to build a wall to keep US in the United States, or keep Mexicans out. I don't know, I'm still uncertain of the actual reasoning behind this stupid wall.

Over the weekend, Trump put a travel ban on people who were from 7 Muslim-majority countries. Causing a great erupt of confusion and anger around America. Airports deported and detained many people who were from any of the countries on the list.

Trump hasn't been in office a month and has attacked Women, Native Americans, Mexicans, and now Muslim Immigrants. Many have taken a stand on the issues Trump has brought up and hundreds of thousands of people are fighting against Trump.

Some people are still oblivious to what is happening right now, or even indifferent because they problems do not effect them, but it's only a matter of time that Trump and Co. will attack another group of people.

Standing up for what's right isn't just for women, minorities, LGBT members, poor, and Muslims, this is for EVERYONE who is against HATE. Because when all the above are done being attacked, another group will be the target.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
