Lets face it eating healthy is sometimes a drag, time consuming and tasteless. Recently I've gone through major changes in my life. Three of them being eating healthy, drinking plenty of water and working out. Here are my go to recipes that will taste good, are time efficient, and fill you up and keep your metabolism moving!
Protein Bars
1 cup of rolled oats
1/2-3/4 cup of natural peanut butter
1/3 cup of honey
1/4 dark chocolate chopped
2 Tablespoons of Chai Seeds
2 Tablespoons Protein Powders
Mix all together, spread into a baking sheet and put into the refrigerator for 10 minutes. Cut up and serve!
Cilantro/Lime and Garlic Chicken
1 lbs. of natural lean chicken tenders
1/4 cup of cilantro lightly chopped
1 lime
1 garlic clove
salt and pepper to season
Coconut oil
Heat pan to medium heat and put a tablespoon of coconut oil into the pan. Crush garlic clove with the side of your knife and put into pan. Season chicken with salt and pepper, both sides and place into pan and cover for 5 minutes. Turn chicken over and put cilantro and the juice of one lime into the pan, cover for 5 minutes and turn heat down to medium. Uncover and serve!
Tomato and Corn Salsa
6 large tomatoes deseeded and chopped
1 can of whole sweet no salted added corn
2 limes
1 bunch of cilantro
2 cloves of garlic
1/2 Red onion chopped
1/2-1 Jalapeños pepper deseeded
Salt and Pepper to taste
Combine into a large bowl, depending on heat level add amount of jalapeños pepper desired. Serve at room temperature or chilled.
Fruit infused water #1
2 Quarts of water
1/2 lemon
3 leaves of mint
7 strawberries sliced
Fill water into a large pitcher and place fruit in water and enjoy!
Fruit infused water #2
2 Quarts of water
1/2 lemon
3 leaves of mint
1/4 sliced cucumber
Fill water into a large pitcher and place fruit in water and enjoy!
