A True Love Story: The Zoghbi's

A couple undeniably caught up in grace and a passion for Christ

As is the normal practice of teenage girls, my friend and I were watching and talking about cute engagement videos in class a year ago and she mentioned one in particular that was long but worth watching. I went home and pulled up the video, not knowing that it would change my life. I cried all the way through and was astounded by the genuine and overwhelming passion for God that the couple had and such genuine love for each other. The couple in the video was Bonnie Kate and Max Zoghbi. Bonnie Kate was shot in the knee during the Aurora, CO Batman movie shooting, but she continues to live a life marked by grace and complete joy in Christ. In the video, it shows how Max selflessly pursues her and exemplifies what a man after God's own heart looks like. They quickly turned from just a cute couple in a video to my role models and inspiration in my daily life. I had the honor of getting to meet Max and watch him and Bonnie Kate speak live at Sadie Robertson's "Live Original" tour this past week, and I want everyone in the world to hear their story and see how incredible their relationship with God and with each other is. Here are just a few of the many reasons I love the Zoghbi's:

Their story

It is worth every single minute. Please watch it if you have time to, I promise you'll never regret it. It's adorable and will make you want to pursue Jesus so much more afterward.

and then once you're done with that, watch this:

Bonnie Kate's Instagram

I can't tell you how many times I scroll through her feed and feel overwhelmingly satisfied. I know perfection isn't attainable, but she comes pretty darn close.

Flower Crowns

Bonnie Kate is the queen of all flower crowns. She makes them daily, as seen in Max's Instagram stories and her posts.

Max's poetry, speaking, and videography

They're both so talented. His passion for videography and his eloquence in rhetoric and poetry is amazing. (I cried the entire time at Live Original when he spoke, not gonna lie.)

Traveling

They live out of a '79 Airstream that doubles as their mobile studio! I mean I don't think you can get any cooler than these two. They're constantly on the road seeking out new adventures and documenting them through videos and Instagram. Their website http://www.beadventure.us can show you more!

Their relationship

They are God-focused, selfless, and totally in love. She inspires me to become the woman of God she is who will one day marry a man of God like Max.

"So thankful for these big strong arms that help carry me when I'm weary" -Bonnie Kate

Bonnie Kate and Max, you are truly incredible people. I pray for you and hope you know there are so many people that look up to you both in so many ways. Thank you for impacting my life and I know you'll impact many to come.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
