A Trip To Remember

Why vacationing with your best friends is the absolute best.

A Trip To Remember

Everyone loves going on vacation, and what’s better than going on vacation with your best friends? Last week, I went on vacation to Avalon, New Jersey with five of my best girl friends from college where we rented a house that was just a two-minute walk away from the beach. Vacationing with your best friends is tons of fun, and you will make an endless amount of memories.

While on vacation for just one week, I feel that I grew closer and learned a lot more about my friends than I had over our first year of school. You get to know them even better. You get to know more about their family. You share what you hope the future brings and different goals that you have. You experience new things together. You realize why these people are your best friends, and you can have fun whether it's sunny or rainy.

The memories you make on vacation will never be forgotten, and you will cherish them forever. Whether its laying on the beach, going out to dinner, shopping, getting approached by a random group of guys, making meals at the house together, staying at the beach until you get to 50 at paddle ball or simply just sitting on the deck talking, you are making irreplaceable memories and developing inside jokes that will last a lifetime.

While being on vacation for a week (with all girls), you learn and see different things that will happen. You learn how to take a 5-minute shower, the bathroom will always be crowded, everyone has different opinions, not everyone wakes up at the same time, you learn how to make different things in the kitchen, that sunscreen is necessary, and that not everyone is going to like the same things. But, most importantly, it will be the trip of a lifetime. Although there may be a few breakdowns and complaining, going on vacation with your best friends is an incredible experience. You get the opportunity to learn more about your friends and yourself while sipping on refreshing drinks.

When your vacation is coming to an end, you’ll probably be ready to get back into your normal routine. But, you won’t be ready to leave the amazing and relaxing place you have called home for the past week with your best friends. The multiple pictures that are on your camera roll will make you miss the place you’ve been, and you’ll wish that you were back at the beach with some of your favorite people.

Taking a vacation and relaxing with your best friends is so important. Make time for yourself and take a break from work and everything else that is going on in your life. Whether you're lying on the beach, making dumb Snapchat stories, sitting and talking about the day and boys or going out with your friends, spending time together with your best friends is what really matters. It doesn’t get much better than that.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
