A Tribute To All Of The Special People In My Life
Arts In Action Consulting

This week, I decided to go a little deeper. Currently I am studying poetry in my creative writing class and I found myself being a little more detailed when writing this article. I will admit while writing this, I held back tears on this one (happy tears of course). This is a thank you and a special tribute to all of the people who impact my life in a positive way, I want to recognize you all for all being rock stars in my life.

To my mom:

Thank you for being my best friend, the one a can call and talk to no matter what. You are my sparkle and my sunshine, we are too much alike, but that isn’t a bad thing at all. I love our target trips and Pedi days I love the amount of laughter we share and the trust we have.

To my dad:

You are the guy that I put on a platform. You are the guy that I think no one can ever be better than. You are whom I look up to as a man, and I thank you every day for pushing me to where I am. I love making you proud, I wouldn’t be where I am today without you, thank you for believing in me.

To my boyfriend:

Thank you for always being there to listen to my worries, thank you for listening to me stress about the paper that I have due the next day, and knowing how to make me laugh. I always tell you this, but will continue to always tell you that I love supporting you and will continue to always do it. You are the warmth in my heart, the happiness in my smile and you have showed me what it's like to fall in love and be in love. There is no one else in this world I would imagine wanting to share life with other than you. Thank you for being my go to, my sidekick and my best friend.

To my family:

You guys are my life. I love each and every one of you from cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents our memories are very memorable. Thank you for the great laughs, the times we all laugh so hard we can’t stop, the fact that we always offer our homes to one another and unforgettable family holidays.

To my boss(es):

You are shaping me into the person that I want to be in five years from now. Thank you for helping me with my dreams and always believing in me. You are my second family; I have no clue what I would do without you guys. #GoParagon

To my friends:

You guys are my light. I love you all. Between new friends and old friends you all mean the world to me. Being able to laugh, cry and depend on you makes life such a great place. You make college fun, and we all understand when we are crying together while studying for finals week in ClubLib.

To my roommates:

I will begin with this, I am so glad we are not random roomies. You guys make each day great, and after a long day of classes and homework, it is always a great time like, cooking dinner and figuring out why the A/C doesn’t want to work for us. We have only lived together for a short amount of time, but I am so excited for the many memories and months to come. Let’s take on college and make this year and many more years a great memory to hold on to for years to come.

To my coworkers:

Not many can say that their coworkers are their family and best friends; I know that I can say that. No one will ever be a more positive impact in my life like you guys have been. From the awkward introduction you guys did for me to meet my now boyfriend (still super embarrassed about that by the way) to the fun events and great support we have with one another. Thank you for being my number one peeps, I wouldn’t want it any other way.

To my dog:

Thank you for being the cutest dog in the world.

I love you all to pieces.

Peace, Love, Green Tea and Puppies,

M

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
