15 Trends That Were So Last Year

2017 was a year of experimentation whether that be with makeup trends and weird ways to apply our foundation or the various designs of crocs we can wear. This goes all the way to what we put on our shirts. Whether these are trends that you find enjoyable or not, we can all agree that 2017 can go down in the books as the most strange year yet.

1. Puffballs on EVERYTHING.

Sandals, sneakers, shirts, phone cases . . . I am guilty of purchasing a pom keychain for my purse.

2. Designer Crocs

Yes, these tried to be a thing! And we still see people rocking the traditional crocs around campus and the mall. But if you really wanted to make a statement, walk the hallways in designer crocs and you'll be sure to turn some heads!

3. Condom Cosmetics

For anyone not aware of this, people did attempt to apply makeup with condoms. Oddly enough, this experiment did not get the highest reviews. What happened to going to the store and getting those cheap little blender sponges?

4. Charcoal glue masks

For a while, the videos on YouTube of people screaming or crying as they pulled the mask off their faces were pretty funny! But now the weird pleasure of watching these vids has worn off. It works, but it's not entirely worth the pain.

5. Shirts with unicorns on the boob area . . . Or near it.

Unicorns, tacos, Drake's face, wine glasses, you name it! And I don't know about you all, but I can never find one where the image is actually near the boob area...

6. Chokers longer than our necks

Maybe this is some exercise to lengthen your neck? It just gives me a double chin, super sexy...

7. "Make America Great Again" plastered to every hat and bumper sticker

It's done and over with.

8. Hearing "Despacito" play on the radio and only knowing the word Despacito...

Guilty...

9. Rose gold everything

People are calling it, "The Millennial Pink."

10. Wave eyebrows

We have evolved from the 2016 trend of overly colored in eyebrows, to now adding designs to our foreheads... There is also the "Braided eyebrow" and the "Bow Eyebrow"...

11. Unicorn Frappuccino

Please, Starbucks never ever again!

12. Underboob

Not too sure this trend will be going away anytime soon but who knows . . .

13. Vine

R.I.P Vine . . .

14. "I can't even"

You can't even what? Use your words, please.

15. The dab . . .

I wonder what 2018 will bring to the collection of strange dance moves.

I am totally guilty of falling into some of these trends I admit! And like I said earlier, 2017 was a year of experiments. Some were alright, others we can definitely live without. Such as applying our foundation with condoms. But let's not dwindle on the past. It's 2018 baby! Let's make this year the most interesting and inspiring year yet!
