I love watching reruns of "One Tree Hill." It's a show full of wisdom and the struggles we face growing up. Nathan Scott is one of my favorite characters. A character who started as the villain on the show but turns into a better man for his wife and family. Here are some of my favorite Nathan Scott quotes that I admire.

"I was thinking about what you said, about living in the moment. Well I realized, that if I'm going to live in the moment, then I just want to live in the moment with you."

"You know it's been said that we just don't recognize the significant moments of our lives while they're happening. We grow complacent with ideas, or things, or people and we take them for granted and it's usually not until that thing is about to be taken away from you that you've realized how wrong you've been, that you realized how much you love it. God, I love this game."

"Every once in a while, people step up. They rise above themselves. Sometimes they surprise you. And sometimes they fall short. Life is funny sometimes. It can push pretty hard. But if you look close enough, you find hope in the words of children, in the bars of a song and in the eyes of someone you love. And if you're lucky, I mean if you're the luckiest person on this entire planet, the person you love decides to love you back."

"The hardest things are the most rewarding things."

"Stepping up. It's a simple concept. It basically means to rise above yourself; to do a little more to show you something special. Life's funny sometimes; can push pretty hard."

"Believe that dreams come true everyday. Because they do."

"Every choice you make shapes your future."

"You can't measure a dream."

"You have one chance, one life, and what you do with it is up to you."

"The truth is still the truth. And you can spin it and shade it and bend it, but there's still right and wrong."

"We're all crazy, some of us hide it better than others."

"People just go through things, challenges that make them stronger."

"It's hard missing someone, but if you miss someone that means you're lucky; it means you had someone special in your life, someone worth missing."

"It's the oldest story inn the world. One day you're planning for someday. And then quietly and without you ever really noticing someday is today and then someday is yesterday and this is your life."

"And losing your way on a journey is unfortunate. But losing your reason for the journey is a fate more cruel."

"You know what? Tragedies happen. What are you gonna do? Give up? Quit? No. I realize now that when your heart breaks, you gotta fight like hell to make sure you're still alive. Because you are. And that pain you feel? That's life. The confusion and fear, that's there to remind you that somewhere out there is something better. And that something is worth fighting for."

"People say hell is endless. They say it's our worst nightmare, the face of our darkness. But whatever it is, however it is, I say hell is empty and all the devils are here."

"When you turn out the lights, it's all the same darkness."

"Sometime the hardest things are the most rewarding."

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
